Thompson Center Arms Power Ball Bullet Starter

• Steel construction: The steel body gives this muzzleloader accessory the rigidity needed for consistent bullet seating pressure and dependable field use.
• Built for rifles: Designed for rifle use, it helps start PowerBall-style projectiles squarely into the bore, reducing the chance of uneven seating at the muzzle.
• Compact loading aid: A dedicated bullet starter speeds up the first stage of loading, which is especially useful when hands are cold or fouled during extended range sessions or hunts.
• Black finish: The black finish keeps the tool visually discreet in a hunting kit and matches typical muzzleloader accessories without drawing attention.
• Made for muzzleloader use: As part of the Thompson Center accessory range, it supports the practical needs of black-powder shooters who want a simple, purpose-built loading tool.

About the Thompson Center Accessories Series

Thompson Center Accessories is a practical support line built around the needs of hunters and outdoor users. Rather than focusing on one firearm platform alone, the series covers the everyday carrying, loading and field-handling tasks that come with time on the range or in the field. Within the broader Thompson Center catalog, these accessories sit alongside the brand’s muzzleloader and hunting products, giving shooters purpose-built tools for transport, reload management and routine handling.

A defining trait of the series is its emphasis on straightforward utility. The range includes products for carrying firearms and binoculars, as well as accessories intended for managing muzzleloader reload supplies. That makes the series especially relevant to black-powder shooters who need simple, durable tools that work reliably in hunting conditions. The design approach is functional rather than elaborate: compact forms, field-suitable materials and accessories that solve a specific task without adding unnecessary bulk. For muzzleloader users, that means loading aids and support gear that fit naturally into a hunting or range kit.

About the Thompson Center Arms Power Ball Bullet Starter

The Thompson Center Arms Power Ball Bullet Starter is a dedicated muzzleloader loading tool made to help start a projectile cleanly into the bore before the ramrod takes over. That first movement matters: when a bullet begins straight and evenly, loading feels more controlled and the projectile is less likely to cant at the muzzle. For shooters using PowerBall-style bullets in the field or at the bench, a starter like this makes the loading sequence more deliberate and repeatable.

Its steel construction is the key practical feature. A steel starter resists flex and wear better than lighter-duty alternatives, so pressure is transferred more directly when seating the bullet’s first short distance into the barrel. That is useful when fouling begins to build after repeated shots, because the tool remains firm and predictable instead of feeling vague under hand pressure. The black finish keeps the accessory understated in a hunting kit and gives it the simple, workmanlike appearance expected from traditional muzzleloader gear.

Because it is intended for rifles, this accessory suits the loading routine of hunters and recreational black-powder shooters who want a separate starter rather than relying only on the ramrod. In practice, that means quicker loading preparation, better control at the muzzle and a more efficient process when reloading under field conditions.

About Thompson Center

Thompson/Center Arms traces its firearms business to 1967 and is headquartered in Rochester, New Hampshire, United States. The company has long focused on firearms for hunters, shooters and outdoor enthusiasts, with a product history that includes muzzleloaders, black-powder accessories, interchangeable firearm systems and precision rimfire rifles. Well-known platforms in the brand’s history include the T/C Encore system, while the Triumph line is one of its established muzzleloader families.

The company became part of Smith & Wesson on January 4, 2007, and Smith & Wesson later announced plans to divest the brand on May 3, 2021. In 2024, Gregg Ritz acquired Thompson/Center Arms.
