TacStar AR-15 Handguard with Picatinny Rail, 15″

• 15″ free-float length: The extended handguard gives the support hand more room and covers more of the barrel, helping with control, accessory placement and a longer, more stable grip on AR-15 rifles.
• Carbon construction: The carbon build keeps weight down while maintaining rigidity, which helps preserve the rifle’s balance during longer shooting sessions or when adding lights, grips or other accessories.
• Integrated top rail: The Picatinny rail provides a continuous mounting surface for sights and accessories, making it easier to configure the rifle for practical shooting, hunting or general range use.
• Mil-spec barrel nut compatibility: The design mounts to a standard Mil spec barrel nut, which simplifies installation on many AR-15 platforms without requiring a barrel nut change.
• Accessory-ready layout: With side and bottom mounting positions and ventilation slots, the handguard supports a flexible setup while helping manage heat during repeated firing.

About the TacStar Accessories Series

TacStar Accessories is a firearm-accessory range built around practical upgrades for hunters, military professionals and law-enforcement users. The series sits within the broader TacStar offering as a collection of functional parts and add-ons for shotguns and rifles, including shell carriers, grips, rails, slings and brass catchers. Rather than focusing on one firearm type alone, the line is designed to give users straightforward ways to adapt a weapon to a specific role, whether that means improving handling, adding carry options or creating mounting space for supporting equipment.

Within the series, the design approach is simple and utilitarian: durable materials, secure mounting systems and configurations that suit hard field use. That makes the range relevant not only for tactical setups, but also for sporting and hunting rifles that benefit from better ergonomics or accessory support. In products such as handguards and rails, the emphasis is on creating a stable interface between the rifle and the shooter while preserving reliability and keeping installation practical for common firearm platforms.

About the TacStar AR-15 Handguard with Picatinny Rail, 15″

The TacStar AR-15 Handguard with Picatinny Rail, 15″ is built for shooters who want a longer, lighter front end on an AR-platform rifle without giving up mounting flexibility. Its 381.00 mm length gives the support hand more placement options and allows a modern extended grip, which can improve leverage and muzzle control in practical shooting, training and general rifle handling. On rifles with longer barrels, the added coverage also creates a cleaner, more continuous forend profile.

The handguard uses a carbon construction, which is especially useful on a rifle that may already carry an optic, sling, light or bipod. Reducing front-end weight helps the rifle feel less tiring to hold on target and can make transitions between targets smoother. At the same time, the rigid tube format supports a stable interface for the shooter’s hand and mounted accessories. The integrated Picatinny rail along the top gives a familiar mounting standard for sights or other compatible equipment, while the handguard body is laid out to support additional accessory placement and airflow.

In practical terms, this TacStar handguard suits AR-15 owners who want a more contemporary rifle setup with improved handling and a cleaner accessory-mounting solution. It is intended for rifles and is designed to mount to a standard Mil spec barrel nut, which can simplify installation on compatible builds. For users moving away from a traditional two-piece handguard, it offers a longer gripping surface, lower apparent front weight and a more adaptable platform for rifle accessories.

About TacStar

TacStar is a firearm-accessory brand within the Lyman portfolio. Lyman acquired TacStar in 1997 to broaden its reach in the tactical and law-enforcement segment, and the brand has since focused on practical accessories for working firearms. TacStar’s catalog includes shotgun and rifle accessories such as shell carriers, grips, rails, slings and brass catchers, reflecting a clear emphasis on functional upgrades rather than cosmetic add-ons.

The brand is especially well known for the patented SideSaddle, a shotgun shell carrier that became one of its defining products. That background is relevant here because it shows TacStar’s long-standing focus on parts that improve firearm handling, carry and readiness in the field. Across the range, the brand is aimed at hunters as well as military and law-enforcement professionals, with products designed around straightforward installation and practical use.
