Steyr Mannlicher Luxus Pivot Mount Base Rail

• Pivot-Mount Interface: Built for a pivot-mount setup, this base rail provides a secure attachment point for detachable optics while supporting the repeatable return-to-position that hunters expect when removing and reinstalling a scope.
• Made for the Luxus Platform: Designed for the Steyr Mannlicher Luxus system, it matches the rifle’s modular concept and supports barrel-and-optic combinations that can be changed with less disruption to the rifle’s handling.
• Low-Profile Construction: The compact rail format keeps the mounting solution close to the rifle, helping preserve clean lines and practical carry characteristics in the field.
• Steel-Compatible Hunting Setup: As part of a traditional hunting rifle mounting arrangement, the rail supports a robust optic interface suited to repeated use on stalking and driven-hunt rifles.
• Black Finish: The black surface gives the mount base a discreet appearance that blends naturally with modern hunting optics and rifle components.

About the Luxus Series

The Steyr Mannlicher Luxus series is a premium hunting-rifle family built around a modular switch-barrel concept. Within the Steyr hunting lineup, the Luxus sits as a refined system rifle intended for hunters who want one platform that can cover very different game and terrain. The design allows the rifle to move from lighter stalking roles to heavier hunting applications by changing barrel assemblies, which also makes the mounting system especially important for maintaining a practical optic setup.

A defining characteristic of the series is its balance of traditional hunting-rifle styling with a modern mechanical layout. The Luxus platform is known for fine finishing, engraved details on some versions, and a receiver-and-barrel arrangement designed around flexibility rather than a fixed single-purpose configuration. Steyr also offered the rifle with different top-side mounting solutions, including a rail for pivot mounts and a Picatinny-style option, so users could tailor the rifle to classic European hunting optics or more universal scope-mounting systems. That makes the series particularly relevant to hunters who value repeatable optics mounting as much as the rifle’s caliber versatility.

About the Steyr Mannlicher Luxus Pivot Mount Base Rail

The Steyr Mannlicher Luxus Pivot Mount Base Rail is a dedicated mounting component for the Luxus hunting rifle, intended for shooters who prefer a detachable pivot-mount optic arrangement. On a modular rifle such as the Luxus, the mount interface is not a minor accessory; it is part of how the rifle is configured for different hunting tasks. A pivot-mount rail supports the use of traditional detachable scope mounts, making it easier to remove an optic for transport, switch setups, or keep the rifle aligned with a preferred hunting configuration.

Its main advantage is practical rather than cosmetic. A properly matched pivot-mount base helps preserve the repeatability expected from a detachable mounting system, which matters when a rifle is carried extensively, reconfigured, or used with more than one optic arrangement. The low-profile rail format also suits the character of the Luxus platform, keeping the rifle streamlined and avoiding the bulkier appearance of more tactical-style interfaces. For hunters building a classic European-style setup, that is an important part of the rifle’s handling and visual balance.

Finished in black and made in Germany, this base rail is a straightforward but important part of the rifle-and-optic system. It is best suited to users who want the clean handling of a hunting rifle together with the convenience of a detachable, repeatable scope mount arrangement.

About Steyr Mannlicher

Steyr Mannlicher traces its origins to April 16, 1864, when Josef Werndl and his brother Franz founded the company in Oberletten. Today, STEYR ARMS is headquartered in Kleinraming, Austria, and it is known for manufacturing hunting, sporting, precision and tactical firearms. That broad firearms background is relevant to products such as the Luxus mount base, because the company’s rifle systems have long been developed with close attention to field use, handling and mechanical fit.

Its better-known rifle families include the AUG, the SSG 69, and the Mannlicher hunting rifles. The company became independent again in 1989 after the breakup of Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, and it renamed itself STEYR ARMS effective January 1, 2019. Across its hunting products, the brand has maintained a reputation for combining traditional rifle design with practical engineering, which is exactly the context in which the Luxus system and its dedicated mounting components make sense.
