Schmidt & Bender Battery Cap Defence and Competition

• Purpose-built battery cap: This accessory is made for Defence and Competition scope setups, helping keep the battery compartment properly closed and protected during regular field use, transport and handling.
• Aluminium construction: The aluminium body keeps weight low while offering the rigidity and wear resistance expected from a riflescope accessory that may be fitted and removed more than once.
• Factory-fit compatibility: As part of the Schmidt & Bender accessory range, it is intended to match the manufacturer’s own scope systems rather than rely on generic fit, which helps maintain proper function and finish.
• Useful replacement part: A dedicated battery cap is a practical spare for shooters who want to replace a damaged or misplaced original part without changing the optic’s handling or appearance.
• Made for hard-use optics: In the Defence and Competition context, small components matter. A correct battery cap helps preserve reliable access to the illumination battery while keeping the optic ready for training, match or duty use.

About the S&B Accessories Series

S&B Accessories is the factory accessory range that supports Schmidt & Bender riflescopes with model-specific add-ons and replacement parts. Rather than treating accessories as generic extras, Schmidt & Bender organizes this category around the practical needs of its scope users, with fit varying by riflescope model and application. That approach is especially important in premium hunting optics, tactical optics and competition riflescope setups, where even a small part needs to match the optic correctly.

The series includes items such as lens covers, adapters, anti-reflection devices, filters, cleaning equipment and magnification levers, alongside other purpose-specific components. Across the range, the design philosophy is straightforward: accessories should complement the optic’s original function, preserve compatibility and solve a clear field problem. Some products reduce stray light and reflections, while others improve handling, protection or maintenance. In that context, the S&B Accessories line serves shooters who want to keep their optics configured properly for hunting, competition or professional use without compromising the mechanical fit and finish of the original riflescope.

About the Schmidt & Bender Battery Cap Defence and Competition

The Schmidt & Bender Battery Cap Defence and Competition is a dedicated riflescope accessory designed for optics in the manufacturer’s Defence and Competition segment. Its role is simple but important: it closes and protects the battery compartment, helping the illumination system remain properly secured in normal use. On an illuminated riflescope, that matters because the battery cap is one of the small parts that directly affects day-to-day reliability and readiness.

Built from aluminium, this battery cap is suited to the kind of repeated handling that comes with scope maintenance, battery changes and transport between range sessions or field use. Aluminium keeps the part light, but it also provides the solid feel and durability expected from a premium optic accessory. For shooters using Schmidt & Bender scopes in match, training or professional environments, a correct replacement cap is preferable to an improvised substitute because it preserves the intended fit, thread engagement and overall appearance of the optic.

This accessory is especially relevant as a factory replacement part. If the original cap has been lost, worn or damaged, replacing it with the proper Schmidt & Bender component helps restore the optic to its intended configuration. That makes it a practical addition for users who maintain hard-use riflescope systems and want spare parts that match the original equipment standard.

About Schmidt & Bender

Schmidt & Bender was founded in 1957 by Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Bender in Biebertal-Fellingshausen, Germany. The company remains headquartered in Biebertal and is known for building precision riflescopes for hunting, competition shooting, police and military use. Its product range includes established lines such as Zenith and PM II, reflecting a long focus on premium optical sights rather than general sporting goods.

Over time, Schmidt & Bender expanded its manufacturing base, including the establishment of a Hungarian subsidiary in 1992 built on an optical department acquired from MOM. The company’s reputation in the riflescope market comes from its emphasis on precise mechanical adjustment, dependable optical performance and model-specific solutions for demanding users. That background makes its accessory range particularly relevant, because the same attention to fit and application carries over from the scopes themselves to the supporting parts designed for them.
