Rusan Pivot Mount for Mauser M96, LM Rail

• Pivot mounting system: The pivot design lets the optic swing on and off the rifle in a controlled, repeatable way, which is useful when a Mauser M96 needs to alternate between scoped use and a more traditional setup.
• LM rail interface: The LM rail top accepts compatible rail-based scope mounting solutions, giving a secure connection and making it easier to pair the mount with suitable optics hardware.
• Steel construction: A steel body gives the mount the rigidity needed to keep alignment stable under recoil and regular field handling, while also standing up well to long-term use.
• Adjustable windage: Built-in windage adjustment helps center the optic more precisely during setup, reducing the need to use excessive scope adjustment and supporting a cleaner zero.
• Rifle-specific fit: This version is made for the Mauser M96 (1896), so the geometry matches the rifle platform and supports a more secure, properly aligned installation.

About the Rusan Pivot Mounts Series

Rusan Pivot Mounts are built as a dedicated family of firearm optics mounts for shooters who want a secure attachment with the practical advantage of a removable scope setup. In the Rusan lineup, this series sits as a purpose-made solution for classic hunting rifles and other rifle-specific platforms where a pivoting mount remains a preferred approach. The series is defined by steel construction and quick-release fixation, combining mechanical strength with the ability to remove and reinstall the optic in a straightforward way.

The range includes both complete pivot mounts and versions supplied without bases, which allows the system to cover different rifle actions and optic interfaces. Rusan also offers variants for several mounting standards, including LM rail, Picatinny-related solutions, and prism-based configurations, depending on the rifle and intended optic. Across the series, the design philosophy is practical rather than bulky: rifle-specific fit, durable materials, and a mounting layout intended to keep the optic low, stable, and suitable for regular field use. That makes the series relevant for hunters and traditional rifle owners who want dependable mounting with the flexibility of a detachable optic.

About the Rusan Pivot Mount for Mauser M96, LM Rail

The Rusan Pivot Mount for Mauser M96, LM Rail is a rifle-specific mounting solution made for shooters using the Mauser M96 (1896) with an optic that benefits from an LM rail interface. Its main advantage is the combination of a classic pivot-mount layout with a modern rail-based top, giving the rifle a secure optics platform while preserving the practical appeal of a detachable mount. For hunting use or general sporting applications, that means the optic can be fitted with a system designed around the rifle rather than adapted through a generic base.

The use of steel is important here because a mount has to do more than simply hold an optic in place. It must resist movement, maintain alignment, and tolerate repeated installation, removal, and field handling without becoming the weak point in the setup. On a rifle such as the Mauser M96, that solid construction supports consistent positioning and dependable long-term service.

Adjustable windage adds another practical benefit. Instead of relying entirely on the scope’s internal adjustment range, the mount itself allows lateral correction during installation. This can help achieve a more centered optical setup and leave more of the sight’s own adjustment available for zeroing. The result is a mount that suits shooters who want a durable, rifle-matched pivot system with the flexibility of an LM rail and the refinement of windage adjustment.

About Rusan

Rusan-Mikron is based in Marija Bistrica, Croatia, and the company grew from the Rusan family’s metalworking business, which dates to 1983. Željko Rusan opened a gunsmith shop in 1986, and the company began producing scope mounts in 1993. That background is important because it places Rusan firmly in the tradition of practical firearms engineering rather than general outdoor accessories.

Today, Rusan focuses on products such as scope mounts, scope rings, Picatinny rails, and firearm tuning components, with a strong presence in mounting solutions for sporting and hunting rifles. The company also produces adapter clamps for clip-on sights and adapters for night-vision and thermal-imaging devices, including the clip-on sight adapter clamp introduced in 2009. This specialization gives Rusan a strong reputation among shooters who need model-specific mounting hardware with precise fit and durable all-metal construction.
