Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad Ruger M-77 MKII, 1 Bsk. Weave

• Decelerator recoil-reducing material: the soft rubber construction helps absorb part of the rifle’s rearward force, making heavier loads more manageable and reducing fatigue over longer shooting sessions.
• Pre-fit design for Ruger M-77 MKII: built for a specific rifle platform, this recoil pad is a practical choice when replacing a worn factory pad or updating a stock without moving to a universal grind-to-fit solution.
• Basketweave surface: the textured face helps the pad stay planted on the shoulder during mounting and recoil, which supports steadier gun handling in the field.
• Rubber construction: rubber gives the pad the flexibility needed for recoil control while also offering a durable contact surface for regular hunting and range use.
• Made in the USA: domestic production is a strong fit for shooters who want a well-established American accessory brand with long experience in recoil pads and firearm handling products.

About the Pachmayr Accessories Series

Pachmayr Accessories covers a broad range of firearm support products, with a strong emphasis on grips and recoil pads for rifles and shotguns. The series reflects the part of the Pachmayr lineup built around practical handling improvements rather than optical or mechanical changes to the firearm itself. Within this family, recoil pads remain especially important because they address one of the most noticeable aspects of shooting comfort: how the rifle behaves under recoil.

The series includes products for both long guns and handguns, but rifle accessories stand out through Pachmayr’s long association with recoil-reducing pad designs. That background goes back to the company’s early recoil-pad development, and it still shapes the current range. In practical terms, these accessories are aimed at hunters, recreational shooters, and gunsmiths who want better control, a more secure shoulder mount, and less punishment from repeated firing. Across the line, the design philosophy is straightforward: use proven materials, firearm-specific fit where needed, and surface textures that improve contact and handling. For shooters looking at classic rifle upgrades, Pachmayr recoil pads remain one of the most familiar and widely used accessory types in the brand’s catalog.

About the Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad Ruger M-77 MKII, 1 Bsk. Weave

The Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad Ruger M-77 MKII, 1 Bsk. Weave is a rifle-stock accessory made for shooters who want to reduce felt recoil while keeping a traditional, field-ready setup on a Ruger M-77 MKII. Its main job is simple but important: soften the impact of recoil at the shoulder so the rifle is more comfortable to shoot, especially with harder-kicking hunting calibers or during longer practice sessions.

The key feature is Decelerator material, a rubber compound associated with Pachmayr recoil-control products. In use, that matters because recoil management is not only about comfort; it also helps the shooter stay composed through the shot, recover more smoothly, and avoid developing a flinch over time. The basketweave face texture adds another practical benefit by giving the pad a more secure contact surface against clothing, helping the rifle mount consistently and stay in place under recoil.

This model also suits owners who want a cleaner, more model-specific replacement than a generic pad. Because it is intended for the Ruger M-77 MKII, it fits naturally into restoration, repair, or handling-upgrade projects on that rifle family. The black finish keeps the appearance understated and traditional, while the rubber body focuses on function rather than unnecessary bulk. For hunting rifles and general sporting use, this kind of recoil pad is a straightforward upgrade that improves comfort and control without changing how the rifle carries or operates.

About Pachmayr

Pachmayr was founded by Frank Pachmayr in 1929, and the company’s early custom-gun work was based in Los Angeles, California. The brand became especially well known for firearm handling accessories, with its first recoil pad introduced in 1949. That long focus on recoil control and shooter interface still defines the company today.

Over time, Pachmayr expanded into a wider range of shooting accessories, including handgun grips, recoil pads, and gunsmithing tools. Its rubber handgun grips appeared in the early 1960s, helping establish the brand as a specialist in products that improve comfort, control, and fit. Pachmayr joined Lyman in 1996, linking the brand with a long-established name in shooting equipment. Today, Pachmayr remains closely associated with Decelerator material and other recoil-reducing designs used by hunters, sport shooters, and gunsmiths who want practical upgrades for working firearms.
