Nitehog Boomslang

• 640x480 thermal sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch: Delivers a detailed thermal image that helps separate animals, background and terrain features more clearly, especially when scanning at longer distances or identifying heat sources in cluttered surroundings.
• 60 mm F 1.2 objective lens: The large, fast lens gathers more thermal energy, which improves image brightness and supports the Boomslang’s long 2370.00 m detection capability in difficult weather and low-contrast conditions.
• 3x optical magnification with digital zoom: Gives a useful native image scale for hunting and observation, while added digital zoom helps inspect targets more closely without changing the rifle setup or shooting position.
• OLED display with 1024×768 resolution: Presents the thermal image with strong contrast and a crisp sight picture, making reticles, menus and target detail easier to read during night use.
• Video recording, image capture and WiFi connectivity: Lets the sight document hunts, save observations and transfer footage through the mobile app, which is practical for review, training and sharing recorded thermal footage.

About the Nitehog Boomslang Series

The Nitehog Boomslang series sits in the brand’s thermal sight range as a dedicated riflescope-style solution for hunters who want a traditional aiming format combined with modern thermal imaging. Unlike compact clip-on devices or handheld spotters, the Boomslang platform is built around direct sight use, with controls and handling shaped for rifle-mounted field work. The series is intended for users who need dependable target detection after dark, in poor visibility and across open ground where thermal contrast matters more than ambient light.

A defining part of the series is its use of Nitehog Image Razor processing, which is designed to improve thermal image clarity in conditions such as fog, rain, snow and smoke. The Boomslang family also combines a 640x480 VOx uncooled sensor, a high-resolution OLED display and multiple image modes, giving the user flexibility to tune the view for terrain, weather and personal preference. Mechanically, the series follows a robust hunting-oriented design with tactile controls, programmable buttons and a rail-based mounting concept. The result is a thermal riflescope line focused on practical image interpretation, stable handling and straightforward operation in real hunting conditions.

About the Nitehog Boomslang

The Nitehog Boomslang is a thermal imaging sight built for hunters who want a dedicated rifle-mounted unit with meaningful native magnification and long detection reach. Its 3.00 x optical magnification gives the image a useful starting scale for field use, helping the shooter assess heat signatures without relying immediately on digital enlargement. When more detail is needed, the sight adds digital zoom, allowing closer inspection while keeping the same mounting position and shooting setup.

Image quality is driven by a 640x480 VOx uncooled sensor with 12.00 μm pixel pitch, 40.00 mK NETD and a 60.00 Hz refresh rate. In practice, this combination supports smoother motion rendering, clearer thermal separation and a more readable image when animals or background temperatures are close together. The 60.00 mm objective with F 1.2 aperture further strengthens low-contrast performance and underpins the stated 2370.00 m detection range, making the sight suitable for open-country observation as well as shot placement at more typical hunting distances.

The viewing experience is supported by a 1024×768 OLED display, which provides strong contrast and a crisp reticle image. The Boomslang offers 5 reticles, giving the user a choice of aiming styles to match terrain, target size and personal preference. Recording functions, image capture, video output and WiFi add practical value beyond the shot itself, while the use of 18650 power and up to 6.00 h battery life keeps the system field-ready. Waterproof and fogproof construction, along with operation from -25°C to +50°C, make it a serious thermal riflescope for demanding outdoor use.

About Nitehog

Nitehog Europe GmbH is headquartered in Berlin, Germany. The company is a family company focused on the development, manufacture and distribution of multipurpose thermal imaging devices. Nitehog describes its background as spanning optics and military imaging, which helps explain the practical, field-oriented design of its thermal products.

Within the range, Nitehog’s portfolio includes VIPER thermal clip-on devices, PYTHON thermal spotters and the BOOMSLANG thermal imaging sight. A notable in-house technology is Nitehog Image Razor, a software processing system developed to enhance thermal images in conditions such as fog, rain, snow and smoke. This focus on image usability in difficult environments is central to the brand’s identity in the thermal optics category.
