Meprolight Tru-Dot for FN Herstal FNX in 9mm, .40, .45

• Self-illuminated tritium dots: the three-dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive or duty use at any time.
• Fixed steel construction: the all-steel build and fixed configuration favor durability and consistent zero retention, which matters on a carry or service handgun that sees regular holster wear.
• Three-dot alignment: the green front and rear dots give a familiar reference that helps the eye pick up the sights quickly for faster alignment at typical handgun distances.
• U-notch rear sight: the rear U-profile supports a clear view around the front sight, making it easier to center the front dot and maintain speed during close-range shooting.
• FNX-specific fit: this sight set is made for FN Herstal FNX pistols in 9mm, .40, and .45, providing a direct upgrade path from standard sights for shooters who want dependable low-light capability.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s established line of self-illuminated handgun night sights, built for shooters who want a simple aiming system that works in both daylight and reduced light. Within Meprolight’s handgun range, the series covers fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height configurations, giving it broad relevance for defensive carry pistols, service handguns, and specialized setups. The common thread across the family is a consistent three-dot sight picture that remains easy to read when ambient light drops.

The series is designed as a replacement for factory front and rear sights on compatible pistols, with models made for handguns from multiple manufacturers. Tritium illumination is the defining technology here: it provides a visible reference in darkness without switches or batteries, which keeps the sighting system uncomplicated and always available. Some variants also offer different tritium dot color combinations, while adjustable versions add windage and elevation correction for shooters who want more control. Overall, the Tru-Dot family focuses on practical handgun use, combining a familiar sight picture, low-light visibility, and a robust mechanical layout suited to everyday carry, duty, and range work.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for FN Herstal FNX in 9mm, .40, .45

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for FN Herstal FNX in 9mm, .40, .45 is a dedicated tritium night sight set for FNX pistols, intended for shooters who need a dependable iron-sight upgrade that remains usable around the clock. Its core advantage is the self-illuminated three-dot layout: in bright conditions, the dots are easy to index, and in dim interiors or nighttime environments, the tritium inserts continue to provide a clear aiming reference without any battery dependence.

This model uses a fixed sight arrangement, which suits defensive, service, and everyday carry roles where ruggedness and consistency matter more than on-gun adjustment. The steel construction supports long-term durability under recoil, repeated presentation from the holster, and general hard use. Meprolight pairs that with a U-notch rear sight, a shape that helps frame the front sight cleanly and speeds up visual alignment when shooting at practical handgun distances.

The all-green dot configuration keeps the sight picture straightforward and familiar, reducing distraction for shooters who prefer a traditional layout. Because this set is made specifically for FN Herstal FNX pistols in 9mm, .40, and .45, it is well suited to owners who want better low-light capability while preserving the handling and simplicity of conventional iron sights. For a handgun used for personal defense, duty carry, or regular training, that combination of constant visibility, robust materials, and uncomplicated operation is the main appeal.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. It is a division of SK Group, and its catalog spans conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, night-vision systems, and thermal devices.

That background is directly relevant to handgun sights such as the Tru-Dot series. Meprolight’s long focus on practical sighting systems has given it a strong reputation for robust, duty-oriented products that emphasize visibility, straightforward operation, and mechanical durability. In the pistol category, the brand is especially well known for its tritium-based night sights, which are designed to provide a constant low-light aiming reference without relying on batteries or external charging.
