Meprolight Mepro R4E Night Sight-Green/Orange

• Five-element sight picture: The Mepro R4E uses three rear alignment features and two front references to create a fast, crosshair-like sight picture that helps the eye center the pistol more quickly under stress.
• Self-illuminated tritium system: Tritium in both the front and rear sights stays visible in low light and darkness without batteries, switches, or charging, so the pistol remains ready around the clock.
• Green front and orange rear configuration: The contrasting green front / orange rear layout helps separate the front sight from the rear at a glance, making sight alignment faster in defensive and carry use.
• Steel construction: A durable steel body stands up well to daily carry, repeated holstering, and hard use, giving the sight set the robustness expected from a fixed handgun sight.
• Fixed day-and-night design: With no electronics and no moving adjustments, the sight stays simple, consistent, and maintenance-light for duty, defensive, and concealed-carry pistols.

About the Mepro R4E Series

The Mepro R4E series is Meprolight’s family of self-illuminated handgun night sights built for shooters who want faster alignment than a conventional three-dot layout. Developed in cooperation with former US Special Forces operators, the series is aimed at defensive, duty, and concealed-carry use, where the sight picture needs to be easy to read in bright daylight, dim interiors, and full darkness. Rather than relying on batteries or external light charging, the R4E design uses tritium illumination so the sights remain visible at all hours.

What sets the series apart is its five sight alignment element layout. The rear sight uses three vertical features, while the front adds two more references, producing a more structured visual index than a standard notch-and-post arrangement. In practice, that gives the shooter a clearer way to center the front sight quickly when time is limited. The series also emphasizes robust metal construction and fixed-sight simplicity, making it suitable for pistols that are carried daily and exposed to repeated handling. Across the range, the focus is not on adjustment complexity but on a durable, always-on sighting system that supports fast, instinctive aiming.

About the Meprolight Mepro R4E Night Sight-Green/Orange

The Meprolight Mepro R4E Night Sight-Green/Orange is configured to give the shooter a highly distinctive sight picture with a green front and orange rear tritium arrangement. That color separation matters in practical use because it helps the eye identify the front sight immediately instead of letting all illuminated elements blend together. On a defensive handgun, where the front sight must be picked up quickly, that clearer visual hierarchy can speed the first accurate shot.

This model uses the R4E system’s five alignment elements to create a more deliberate reference pattern than a conventional three-dot set. The result is a sight picture that feels more structured and easier to center, especially when shooting under pressure or in compromised lighting. Because the tritium is built into both the front and rear sights, the system remains visible in darkness without batteries or manual activation. That makes it well suited to pistols kept for home defense, professional duty, or everyday carry, where readiness matters more than electronic features.

The sight body is made from steel, which supports long-term durability against daily carry wear, recoil, and incidental impacts. As a fixed night sight, it also keeps operation straightforward: there are no brightness settings to manage and no charging routine to remember. The design is centered on consistency, giving the shooter the same sight picture by day and a clearly visible one at night.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company is a division of SK Group and focuses on the development and manufacture of optical and electro-optical sighting systems. Its product range covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, and thermal sights, reflecting a strong emphasis on practical aiming solutions for firearms.

Meprolight builds sighting systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines and serves military, law-enforcement, and civilian markets. That background is especially relevant to handgun night sights such as the R4E series, where durability, immediate usability, and low-light visibility are central to the design.
