Meprolight HVS for Kimber 1911

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The sight picture stays visible in low light without batteries or switches, so the pistol remains ready for defensive use at any hour.
• High-Visibility 3-Dot Layout: The three-dot arrangement gives a familiar reference that helps the eye pick up the front sight quickly and align the pistol faster under stress.
• U-Notch Rear Sight: The green U-shaped rear notch frames the front sight clearly, making sight acquisition quicker while still allowing precise alignment for deliberate shots.
• Steel Construction: A steel body stands up well to daily carry, repeated holstering, and recoil, helping the sights keep their shape and zero over long use.
• Fixed Configuration for Kimber 1911: The fixed design keeps the setup simple and robust, with no exposed adjustment parts to snag or shift during regular carry or range work.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series, later renamed Hyper-Bright, is Meprolight’s line of high-visibility handgun night sights built for shooters who want a clear sight picture in both bright daylight and reduced light. The series combines self-illuminated tritium in the front and rear sights with a practical pistol-sight layout that does not depend on batteries, buttons, or electronic controls. That makes the design especially relevant for defensive pistols, duty handguns, and everyday-carry setups where immediate readiness matters.

A defining characteristic of the series is its three-dot sight picture paired with a U-shaped rear notch. This layout helps the shooter center the front sight quickly while preserving a familiar alignment system for users transitioning from standard iron sights. The family is built with steel construction and is offered for multiple handgun platforms, reflecting a design approach focused on durability, straightforward installation, and dependable use rather than adjustment-heavy competition features. Within Meprolight’s handgun-sight range, the HVS/Hyper-Bright line sits as a practical fixed-sight option for shooters who need strong visibility across changing light conditions.

About the Meprolight HVS for Kimber 1911

The Meprolight HVS for Kimber 1911 is a fixed tritium night sight set made for shooters who want a durable, always-on iron-sight solution for a 1911-pattern pistol. Its main strength is consistency: because the sights are self-illuminated, there is nothing to activate before use, which suits defensive carry, home protection, and range practice that extends into dim indoor or evening conditions. The sight picture remains familiar and uncluttered, so it works well for shooters who prefer traditional irons over more complex aiming systems.

The 3-dot alignment gives an intuitive reference for rapid front-sight acquisition, while the green U-notch rear sight helps draw the eye into the center of the rear window. In practice, this can make the pistol quicker to index on close targets while still supporting careful alignment for slower, more precise shots. Because the sights are fixed, there are no exposed adjustment mechanisms to loosen, snag, or complicate the setup. That simplicity is useful on a carry pistol that may see frequent holster use and hard handling.

Steel construction adds the kind of strength expected from a serious handgun sight set. It resists wear better than softer materials and is well suited to repeated recoil and daily use. Finished in black, the set keeps a subdued appearance on the pistol while letting the illuminated aiming references do the visual work when light conditions become difficult.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. Its catalog spans pistol and rifle sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, night-vision systems, and thermal devices, reflecting a broad focus on practical aiming solutions across small arms platforms.

Within the shooting market, Meprolight is particularly associated with durable sighting systems designed for real field use rather than purely bench-oriented applications. The company’s experience with tritium night sights, reflex sights, and other combat-oriented optics is directly relevant to handgun products such as the HVS series. As a division of SK Group, Meprolight remains closely tied to defensive and professional sighting equipment while also serving civilian shooters.
