Levenhuk Karma PLUS 8x42

• 8x42 configuration: The 8x magnification is easy to hold steady for long observation sessions, while the 42 mm objectives gather enough light for woodland walks, dawn wildlife viewing, and general outdoor use.
• Roof prism design: Schmidt/Pechan roof prisms keep the binoculars slimmer and easier to pack than bulkier prism layouts, which suits travel, hiking, and active field use.
• Long eye relief: With 17.80 mm of eye relief and user-adjustable eyecups, the binoculars are more comfortable for eyeglass wearers and easier to set up for a full field of view.
• Fully multicoated optics: The lens coatings help improve light transmission and contrast, giving a brighter, clearer image with less distracting glare in mixed lighting conditions.
• Nitrogen-filled waterproof body: The sealed housing resists water and internal fogging, so the binoculars remain dependable when moving between temperatures or using them in wet weather.

About the Levenhuk Karma Plus Series

Levenhuk Karma Plus sits above the standard Karma line as a more advanced family built for users who want a compact binocular without giving up practical field features. Introduced during Levenhuk’s 2015 product-line renewal, the series was developed around a roof prism design that keeps the binoculars relatively streamlined for travel, hiking, and active outdoor observation. Across the range, the series combines BaK-4 glass optics with three-element eyepieces, aiming to deliver a balanced image with good viewing comfort in a portable format.

The series also places clear emphasis on day-to-day usability. Nitrogen-filled waterproof housings help prevent internal fogging in poor weather, while the light-gray rubber-armored bodies are shaped for secure handling in the field. Levenhuk designed the line to accommodate different users, including eyeglass wearers, with adjustable eyecups and user-specific diopter setting. The range spans several magnification and objective-size combinations, so the series covers everything from compact travel binoculars to more versatile full-size models for wildlife observation and general outdoor use.

About the Levenhuk Karma PLUS 8x42

The Levenhuk Karma PLUS 8x42 is the full-size all-rounder in the series, combining a steady 8x magnification with 42 mm objective lenses for a useful balance of reach, brightness, and viewing comfort. This format works especially well for bird watching, nature observation, and hunting use where subjects may appear at varying distances and light conditions can change through the day. The 5.25 mm exit pupil helps maintain a bright, relaxed image in subdued light, while the 118.30 m/1000m field of view is wide enough to follow moving subjects without feeling overly narrow.

The optical layout uses roof Schmidt/Pechan prisms in a single-hinge body, keeping the binoculars more compact than many traditional full-size alternatives. Fully multicoated lenses support better contrast and image brightness, which is particularly useful when scanning shaded woodland, open fields, or distant tree lines. A central focusing system allows quick, intuitive adjustment, and the right-eye diopter correction from -4 / +4 helps tailor the image to individual eyesight.

Comfort is a strong part of this model’s design. With 17.80 mm eye relief, it is easier to use for extended sessions and more accommodating for eyeglass wearers. The waterproof, fogproof housing is nitrogen filled, helping the binoculars stay clear when conditions turn damp or temperatures shift. Altogether, this is a practical 8x42 binocular for users who want portability, weather resistance, and a calm, easy-to-manage image.

About Levenhuk

Levenhuk began operations in 2002 and describes itself as an American manufacturer of optical instruments with headquarters in Tampa, Florida. The company focuses on a broad range of observation products, including binoculars, spotting scopes, telescopes, monoculars, and microscopes, with manufacturing facilities in China. Within binoculars, Levenhuk has developed several distinct lines such as Atom, Karma, Sherman, and Vegas, covering compact travel models through to more specialized outdoor optics.

The brand is known for offering a wide catalog across both traditional and newer viewing categories. Alongside conventional binoculars, its range includes products such as Vegas ED binoculars, which use extra-low-dispersion glass to reduce color fringing, as well as Fatum thermal scopes and Halo and Atom Digital night-vision devices. That breadth makes Levenhuk a manufacturer with experience across recreational, field-observation, and entry-to-midrange sport optics.
