Levenhuk Karma PLUS 12x42

• 12x magnification with 42 mm objectives: brings distant subjects closer while keeping the binoculars compact enough for travel, hiking, and general outdoor observation where reach matters more than a very wide view.
• Roof prism design: the Schmidt/Pechan prism system keeps the body slim and easy to pack, making these binoculars more convenient to carry than bulkier traditional designs.
• Fully multicoated optics: improves light transmission and contrast, helping the image stay clearer and more usable in mixed light, overcast weather, and shaded woodland.
• Nitrogen-filled waterproof housing: helps prevent internal fogging and supports reliable use in rain, damp air, and changing temperatures during field use.
• Central focus with right-eye diopter adjustment: allows quick focusing and easy compensation for differences between the eyes, which helps achieve a sharper image faster.

About the Levenhuk Karma Plus Series

Levenhuk Karma Plus sits above the standard Karma line as a more advanced family of compact roof prism binoculars for active outdoor use. Introduced during Levenhuk’s 2015 product-line renewal, the series was designed to combine travel-friendly dimensions with more refined optics and ergonomics than the entry-level models. Across the range, the binoculars use BaK-4 glass optics and three-element eyepieces, a combination intended to deliver a cleaner, more controlled image in a compact format.

The series is built around waterproof, nitrogen-filled housings that help resist internal fogging in poor weather, making Karma Plus suitable for hiking, birdwatching, and general nature observation rather than fair-weather use only. Its light-gray bodies with embossed rubber coating emphasize secure handling and portability, while user-friendly adjustment features make the line practical for shared use and for eyeglass wearers. With models spanning 8x, 10x, and 12x magnification and objective sizes from 25 mm to 42 mm, the series covers everything from compact daytime carry to higher-magnification observation where extra reach is needed.

About the Levenhuk Karma PLUS 12x42

Levenhuk Karma PLUS 12x42 is the highest-magnification full-size model in the series, aimed at users who want more reach for distant wildlife, landscape details, or observation across open ground. The 12x magnification gives this binocular a clear advantage when the subject is too far away for 8x or 10x glass, while the 42 mm objective lenses provide a practical balance between image brightness and portability. That makes it well suited to daylight field use where detail recognition is more important than the broadest possible field of view.

The binocular uses a roof prism layout to keep the body slimmer and easier to carry than a comparable Porro-prism design. Fully multicoated optics help maintain contrast and reduce distracting reflections, which is useful when glassing in variable light or looking into shadowed areas. A 3.5 mm exit pupil and 12.5 mm eye relief support comfortable viewing, while the central focusing system allows quick adjustment as viewing distances change. The right-eyepiece diopter adjustment gives the user a simple way to fine-tune focus to individual eyesight.

In practical use, the waterproof, fogproof, nitrogen-filled housing is one of the model’s most important strengths. It helps the binocular stay ready in rain, cold mornings, and humid conditions where internal fogging can ruin a view. The single-hinge body and rubberized exterior also make the instrument easier to hold securely in the field, even during longer observation sessions.

About Levenhuk

Levenhuk began operations in 2002 and initially focused on markets outside the United States. The company describes itself as an American manufacturer of optical instruments with headquarters in Tampa, Florida, and says its manufacturing facilities are in China. Its product range covers binoculars, spotting scopes, telescopes, monoculars, and microscopes, giving the brand a broad presence across both observation optics and educational instruments.

Within binoculars, Levenhuk has developed several distinct lines, including Atom, Karma, Sherman, and Vegas, each aimed at different levels of use and optical design preferences. The company also extends beyond conventional optics into digital and thermal products, including Halo and Atom Digital night-vision devices and Fatum thermal scopes. That mix of traditional field optics and electronic observation devices is relevant to the Karma Plus series, which reflects Levenhuk’s focus on practical outdoor instruments with compact construction and weather-resistant design.
