HI VIZ LiteWave Rear Sight, Springfield XD

• LiteWave fiber-optic design: The rear sight uses HIVIZ LitePipes to gather ambient light, creating a bright aiming reference that is easier to pick up quickly in daylight and mixed lighting.
• Interchangeable sight colors: Compatible LitePipes let the shooter change between color options, making it easier to tune the sight picture for different backgrounds, targets, and personal preference.
• Steel construction: An all-steel body gives the sight the rigidity needed for daily carry, repeated slide cycling, and hard use on the range without the feel of a fragile add-on part.
• Holster-friendly fixed profile: The fixed rear sight keeps the setup simple and snag-resistant, which suits defensive handguns and training pistols that need a clean draw and consistent point of aim.
• Springfield XD-family fit: This model is built for Springfield XD, XD-S and XD-M pistols, giving owners of these platforms a dedicated rear-sight upgrade without moving to a bulkier adjustable arrangement.

About the Hi Viz LITEWAVE Series

HIVIZ introduced the LITEWAVE series in November 2014 as a fiber-optic sight family built for shooters who want a brighter sight picture without giving up a practical carry profile. In the HIVIZ lineup, LITEWAVE sits as a versatile option for handguns and some rifle applications, covering uses from competition and recreation to hunting, education, daytime shooting and low-light use. That broad role makes the series especially relevant for shooters who need one sighting system that works across training, field use, and general-purpose defensive setups.

A defining feature of the series is its diagonal-wave exoskeleton design, which exposes more of the LitePipe to ambient light while also protecting it from impact. In practice, that means a more visible aiming reference with better durability than a bare exposed fiber. Interchangeable LitePipes are another key part of the LITEWAVE concept, allowing color changes to suit different backgrounds and visual preferences. HIVIZ also designed the series to remain holster-friendly, so the sights stay practical on working handguns rather than becoming range-only accessories.

About the HI VIZ LiteWave Rear Sight, Springfield XD

The HI VIZ LiteWave Rear Sight, Springfield XD is a fixed rear handgun sight made for Springfield XD, XD-S and XD-M pistols, and it is intended for shooters who want a faster, more visible rear reference than a plain black factory unit. Because it uses the LiteWave fiber-optic system, the sight gathers available light and presents a bright rear-dot arrangement that is easier to align quickly during range drills, practical shooting, and field carry in daylight or transitional light. The square rear notch also helps define the front sight cleanly, which supports a more precise sight picture than a vague or overly rounded rear window.

This model keeps the layout simple with a fixed, factory-height rear sight. That matters on a carry or duty-style pistol because there are no adjustment screws to snag, loosen, or complicate the setup. The 0.140 wide blade notch gives a practical balance between speed and control, offering enough daylight around the front sight for quick acquisition while still allowing deliberate alignment for more careful shots. The all-steel construction adds durability for repeated slide movement and regular holster use, while the interchangeable LitePipe format gives the shooter flexibility if a different color works better against certain targets or lighting conditions.

As a dedicated rear-sight upgrade, this model suits shooters who want a brighter sight picture without moving to a taller competition-style assembly. It is also a practical fit for general handgun use where reliability, visibility, and a clean draw matter more than adjustment complexity.

About HiViz

HIVIZ began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and accessories for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. The company is based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, and it is best known for sight systems that improve visibility through fiber-optic and tritium technologies. Across its catalog, HIVIZ has developed product lines such as LiteWave, TriViz, and CompSight, covering applications from defensive handguns to sporting shotguns and hunting rifles.

A notable part of the company’s design approach is the use of removable and reusable LitePipes, which let shooters replace worn elements or change colors without replacing the entire sight. HIVIZ also applies this thinking to more advanced products, including LiteWave H3 models that combine tritium with fiber-optic LitePipes. That focus on visible, practical sight pictures has made the brand well established among shooters looking for straightforward upgrades rather than overly complex sighting systems.
