HI VIZ Interchangeable Rear Sight, S&W 1911

• Interchangeable LitePipe system: The rear sight accepts replaceable fiber-optic LitePipes, so the sight picture can be tuned for different light conditions or shooter preference without changing the entire sight.
• Fiber-optic rear sight picture: A bright rear reference helps the eye pick up the notch quickly, which supports faster alignment on the range and in practical handgun use.
• Fixed rear construction: The fixed design keeps the sight simple and durable, making it well suited to a carry or duty-style 1911 setup where reliability matters more than adjustment complexity.
• 3-dot alignment layout: The familiar 3-dot arrangement gives shooters an intuitive sight picture that is easy to read during rapid presentations and controlled follow-up shots.
• Square rear notch: The square rear profile provides a clean, defined reference around the front sight, helping with consistent alignment and a more precise hold.

About the Hi Viz Interchangeable Sight Series

The Hi Viz Interchangeable Sight series sits within the company’s Original Sights family and centers on a practical idea: a durable handgun sight that uses interchangeable LitePipes to tailor the sight picture. Rather than locking the shooter into one color setup, these sights use molded fiber-optic elements that can be removed, replaced, and reused. That makes the series especially useful for shooters who move between indoor ranges, bright daylight, and mixed lighting, where one color may stand out better than another.

HIVIZ positions this range for competitive and everyday shooters, and the concept extends across handguns, shotguns, and tactical firearms. In pistol applications, the series focuses on a bright, easy-to-acquire sight picture with straightforward mechanical design and platform-specific fit. Available LitePipe colors vary by model, but the family is built around the same strengths: visible aiming references, simple maintenance, and the ability to refresh or customize the sight without replacing the whole unit. For shooters who want a more adaptable iron-sight setup, the series offers a practical balance of visibility, durability, and platform-specific compatibility.

About the HI VIZ Interchangeable Rear Sight, S&W 1911

The HI VIZ Interchangeable Rear Sight, S&W 1911 is a fixed fiber-optic rear sight built for shooters who want a brighter, easier-to-read rear reference on a 1911-pattern pistol without adding adjustment mechanisms. Its role is straightforward: provide a clean rear notch and a more visible alignment point that helps the eye settle into the sight picture faster than a plain black rear can in many lighting conditions. That makes it a sensible choice for range work, general-purpose handgun use, and shooters who prefer a more visible iron-sight setup on a classic platform.

The sight uses a 3-dot alignment layout and a square rear profile, combining familiar visual indexing with a crisp notch shape that helps define the front sight. Because the design is fixed, it keeps the installation compact and mechanically simple, which suits pistols carried often or used heavily in practice. The interchangeable LitePipe concept is the model’s main advantage in day-to-day use: instead of being locked into one rear-sight appearance, the shooter can adapt the sight picture to ambient light or personal preference by changing the fiber-optic elements. At just 10.00 g, it adds very little weight to the slide, preserving the handling characteristics of the pistol while improving sight visibility in a practical, field-relevant way.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and shooting accessories based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States. The company focuses on sighting systems for handguns, shotguns, and rifles, with a product range that includes fiber-optic sights, tritium sights, recoil pads, and related accessories.

A defining part of the brand’s identity is its LitePipe system, which uses removable and reusable fiber-optic elements to let shooters tailor sight color and maintain the sight over time. HiViz has also developed product families such as TriViz and CompSight, along with the LiteWave design that uses an exoskeleton structure and an integral LitePipe locking system. This background makes HiViz particularly relevant in the handgun sight category, where visibility, durability, and platform-specific fit are central to real-world use.
