At 325 g and 80 mm wide × 143 mm high, it is less than half the weight of the equivalent Endurance ED 10×42 binocular.

The ED glass reduces chromatic aberration and colour fringing at 10×, while the phase corrected BAK-4 roof prism and fully multi-coated lenses deliver a clear, well-resolved image across the field. The close focus distance of 2 metres accommodates close-range observation during birding and nature work. The 13mm of eye relief and twist-up eyecup with position stops accommodate both bare-eyed and eyeglass-wearing users — note that the 10×42 model has shorter eye relief than the 8×42, which should be considered by eyeglass wearers when comparing the two.

The body is nitrogen purged, waterproof, and fogproof with a high-grip rubber exterior. The built-in ¼"-20 UNC tripod mounting thread supports stable use on a tripod at 10×. The supplied lanyard allows the monocular to be worn around the neck or wrist for immediate access. Stay-on objective lens cover remains attached during use.
