Forster Bench Rest Neck Sizing Die 308 Win Product description

  1. Precision Neck Sizing: This die is specifically engineered to resize only the neck of your fire-formed .308 Winchester cases. By leaving the case body in its fire-formed state, it significantly reduces brass work-hardening and stretching, which in turn extends the lifespan of your valuable brass. This method is highly favored by competitive shooters and precision hunters for maintaining the rifle's inherent accuracy.

  2. Enhanced Accuracy: Utilizing a neck sizing die helps maintain the precise fit of your cartridge case to your rifle's chamber, reducing case runout and aligning the bullet perfectly with the bore. This results in more consistent bullet seating and improved accuracy, making it an essential tool for those striving for optimal shot placement and tighter groups.

  3. Durable Steel Construction: Crafted from high-quality, hardened steel, the Forster Neck Sizing Die is built to withstand the rigors of extensive reloading. Its robust construction ensures long-term durability and consistent, reliable performance over thousands of reloading cycles, providing an excellent return on investment for serious handloaders.

  4. User-Friendly Design: Designed for straightforward integration into your reloading setup, this die features standard 7/8"-14 threads, making it compatible with most reloading presses on the market. Its simple operation allows handloaders to quickly and efficiently process large quantities of brass while achieving repeatable, high-quality results.

ABOUT THE FORSTER NECK SIZING DIE .308 WINCHESTER

The Forster Neck Sizing Die for .308 Winchester stands out as a critical component for handloaders dedicated to precision and long brass life. Unlike full-length sizing dies that resize the entire case, this specialized die focuses solely on neck resizing, which is particularly beneficial for cases fired in bolt-action rifles that maintain a consistent chamber. By minimally working the brass, it preserves the critical fire-formed dimensions of the case body, reducing the frequency of case trimming and extending the number of reloads each case can undergo. This meticulous approach to sizing minimizes brass fatigue and contributes significantly to improved bullet concentricity and overall cartridge consistency, crucial factors for achieving superior accuracy. Designed for discerning competitive shooters and hunters who demand the best from their ammunition, this die promotes optimal bullet seating and reduced runout, leading to tighter groups downrange. Its robust, precision-machined steel construction ensures reliable performance and exceptional durability for years of dedicated reloading.

What micrometer seating die can be used with fire formed brass after neck sizing with forster bench rest neck sizing die

by Sid Nankivell

Dear Sir!

Normally, a micrometer seating die from manufacturers such as Forster, Redding, RCBS, Triebel, or similar should work with your fire-formed brass after neck sizing.

The main consideration is the diameter of the fire-formed case. If your cases have expanded significantly beyond standard .308 Winchester dimensions, we cannot guarantee that they will fit properly into every seating die.
