ERA-TAC GEN-2 Adjustable MIL/mrad Inclination mount, 36 mm, nut Product description

  • 0-20 mrad adjustable inclination: Adds elevation in practical 5 mrad steps, helping long-range shooters keep more turret travel in reserve when bullet drop exceeds the scope’s internal adjustment range.
  • GEN-2 one-piece design: The mount lets the inclination be changed while the mount and riflescope remain on the rifle, which makes setup changes faster and preserves an established optic position.
  • 36 mm ring interface: Built for 36 mm riflescope tubes, giving large-tube precision optics a secure platform suited to tactical rifles and long-range shooting setups.
  • Tapered hinge joint with self-locking inserts: The play-free joint and secured bolted connections are designed for repeatable alignment and stable clamping under recoil.
  • Nut clamping system: This version uses a nut-based rail attachment for a robust, straightforward connection to Picatinny rails on precision and tactical rifles.

About the ERA-TAC Adjustable Inclination Mounts Series

The ERA-TAC Adjustable Inclination Mounts series sits within the brand’s tactical one-piece mount range and is built for shooters who need more elevation than a riflescope alone can provide. The core idea is simple: when a scope runs short on internal adjustment at distance, the mount adds usable inclination so the optic can stay in a more effective part of its travel. In this series, ERATAC offers both 0-70 MOA and 0-20 mrad/MIL versions, with the mrad models adjusting in 5 mrad steps.

A defining feature of the series is that inclination can be adjusted with the mount and scope still on the rifle, which is especially useful for long-range and precision shooting setups that are already carefully positioned. ERATAC also uses self-locking thread inserts and a solid tapered hinge joint to keep the upper and lower sections firmly aligned. Generation 2 models are available with either a lightweight lever or a nut system, giving shooters a choice between faster handling or a more conventional clamping layout. Across the series, the design focus is mechanical stability, repeatability, and practical elevation management for demanding field and range use.

About the ERA-TAC GEN-2 Adjustable MIL/mrad Inclination mount, 36 mm, nut

The ERA-TAC GEN-2 Adjustable MIL/mrad Inclination mount, 36 mm, nut is a purpose-built solution for rifles that carry 36 mm tube optics and are expected to work at extended distances. Its key advantage is the 0-20 mrad inclination range, which can be set in 5 mrad increments. In practice, that gives the shooter a way to shift the scope’s working range upward for long-distance trajectories without relying entirely on the optic’s internal elevation turret.

This matters most on precision rifles where a heavy bullet and a distant target can quickly consume available adjustment. By building the extra angle into the mount, the system helps preserve turret travel for fine correction and can keep the optic operating in a more useful part of its adjustment range. Because the inclination can be changed while the mount and scope remain on the rifle, the setup is more convenient to adapt than a fixed-cant mount that would require full removal and reinstallation.

The GEN-2 construction also focuses on mechanical consistency. ERATAC uses self-locking thread inserts to stabilize the bolted connections, while the tapered hinge joint keeps the upper and lower sections seated without play. The nut-based clamping system suits shooters who prefer a solid, conventional attachment method on Picatinny rail platforms. With its 136.00 mm length, black anodized aluminum body, and one-piece layout, this mount is aimed at tactical optics and long-range rifles that need both secure scope support and adjustable elevation built into the mounting system.

About ERA-TAC

ERA-TAC is a brand of Recknagel GmbH & Co. KG, based in Bergrheinfeld, Germany. Recknagel was founded in 1867 in Albrechts near Suhl, giving the company a long background in firearm-related engineering and accessories. Within the broader Recknagel portfolio, ERATAC focuses on mounts and accessories for tactical applications, while the parent company also serves hunting and sport shooting markets.

ERATAC mounts are machined from solid aluminum and finished with Mil-Spec Type III hard anodizing, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on durability and consistent fit. The ERATAC line was introduced in 2010 for civilian and military users and includes tactical riflescope mounts, Picatinny rails, backup sights, and related weapon accessories. That background is directly relevant here: the brand’s reputation is built on precise machining, repeatable mounting geometry, and robust designs intended for demanding rifle setups.

Hello, I’d like to buy an era-tac block mount for a ZCO 8-40x56, which has a 36 mm tube. I’d like to get up to 20 mrad more of elevation. Do these scope mounts fit picatinny rail bases? Which era-tac block mount would suit my needs best? Would you happen to have any in stock? Thank you.

by Hauke

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

This mount fits directly on a Picatinny rail. You can take a look at the product on the page below.

If I zero the EraTac adjustable inclination mount at 5mils & zero my rifle, can I then adjust the mount to, for example, 15mils and when using a Kestrel deduct the 'extra' 10mils from the ballistic solution elevation that the Kestrel gives me? Is this how shooters use it or do they set it to what they need for ELR, for example 30mils, and then zero at a longer distance? The reason I ask is because I prefer to zero at 100m as there are much less external factors that have an effect on the trajectory.

by Tony

Both options of zeroing are good, except like you described, if you zero your rifle at longer ranges, you have many additional external factors on your trajectory.
Because of that, we would prefer the other solution.
In the ballistic program, for example, you should also adjust the extra centimeters for the correction, if your shots are higher than what you are aiming for.
