Crimson Trace LG-454 Laserguard

• Instinctive Activation: The front activation button is positioned to engage as the pistol is gripped naturally, so the laser comes on without changing hand position or adding extra steps under stress.
• Trigger Guard Fit: The Laserguard design mounts around the trigger guard of the Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380, giving a model-specific fit that keeps the sight compact for concealed-carry use.
• User-Adjustable Zero: Windage and elevation adjustment let the LG-454 be tuned to the pistol and ammunition in use, which helps place the aiming point where it is needed at defensive distances.
• 5mW Class 3R Red Laser: The red aiming beam provides a clear reference point for fast target indexing, especially in low light or from awkward shooting positions where iron-sight alignment is slower.
• User Installation: The unit installs in moments without turning the pistol into a bulky setup, making it a practical upgrade for owners who want a dedicated carry laser without a complicated mounting process.

About the Laserguard Series

Crimson Trace Laserguard sights are built as compact, firearm-specific laser units for shooters who want a dedicated aiming aid without changing the handling of their handgun. In the company’s lineup, the series sits as a slim trigger-guard-mounted option alongside other laser formats such as Lasergrips and rail-mounted designs. The focus is on concealed-carry and defensive pistols, where low bulk, fast activation and secure fit matter more than universal compatibility.

A defining feature of the series is Instinctive Activation, which places the control where it can be engaged with a normal firing grip rather than through a separate switch routine. That makes Laserguard models well suited to close-range defensive use, backup guns and compact carry pistols. The series is also known for its model-specific housings, which follow the shape of the handgun closely to preserve holster-friendly dimensions and natural draw characteristics. Depending on the model, Laserguard units are offered with red or green lasers, and they are typically designed for straightforward installation and practical zeroing. The result is a handgun laser sight family aimed at fast target acquisition, simple operation and minimal added bulk.

About the Crimson Trace LG-454 Laserguard

The Crimson Trace LG-454 Laserguard is a red handgun laser sight made specifically for the Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380. Its role is straightforward: add a visible aiming reference to a very compact defensive pistol while keeping the package small enough for everyday carry. Because it is shaped for the Bodyguard platform and attaches at the trigger guard, it integrates more cleanly than a generic rail-mounted accessory and avoids adding unnecessary bulk to the front of the pistol.

The sight uses a 5mW peak, 633nm, Class 3R red laser with a dot size of approximately 0.50" at 50'. In practical terms, that gives the shooter a precise aiming point suited to the short distances where pocket pistols are most often used. The laser is fully adjustable for windage and elevation, allowing the point of aim to be matched to the pistol and chosen load. Just as important, the front activation button uses Instinctive Activation, so the laser can be brought into use as the pistol is gripped naturally rather than through a separate control sequence.

For defensive carry, that combination of compact fit, natural activation and user-adjustable zero makes the LG-454 a practical addition to the Bodyguard .380. It is intended for pistols without the factory integrated laser and is not compatible with the S&W Bodyguard 2.0, which keeps fit and application clearly defined.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and built its name around firearm-mounted aiming and illumination systems. The company specializes in laser sights and firearm-mounted lights, with product families that include Lasergrips, Laserguard and Rail Master. This focus on dedicated sighting accessories has made the brand a familiar name in defensive and sporting firearms, particularly where compact, model-specific fit is important.

A key part of the company’s design approach is Instinctive Activation, which uses pressure-pad placement intended to work with a normal shooting grip rather than requiring a separate movement to switch the unit on. Crimson Trace also produces riflescopes and rangefinders, but its strongest identity remains in handgun and firearm-mounted laser systems. The company operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States.
