C-More STS Dovetail Mount - Sig P226 Product description

  • Dovetail fit for Sig P226: This mount is made for the Sig P226, giving owners a direct way to add a compatible C-More miniature red dot without changing the pistol to a rail-based setup.
  • C-More RTS/STS interface: The mount uses the C-More RTS/STS mounting standard, so it supports the footprint used by compatible C-More micro sights and keeps the installation matched to the optic family it was designed around.
  • Aluminium construction: The aluminium body keeps weight down while still providing the rigidity needed for a handgun optic mount, which helps preserve handling and balance on the pistol.
  • Part of a firearm-specific mount range: As part of the C-More MRD Mounts family, this model follows the same application-specific approach as the rest of the series, making it easier to choose a mount built around a particular handgun rather than adapting a generic base.
  • Compact fixed-mount design: A fixed mount keeps the setup simple and mechanically straightforward, which suits shooters who want a stable platform for range use, competition, or general handgun red-dot installation.

About the C-More MRD Mounts Series

C-More MRD Mounts are a family of micro red-dot mounting solutions built around the company’s compact sight lines and the different mounting needs of handguns, rails, and other firearm platforms. C-More presents this category as STS2 mounts, with the series centered on mounts for micro sights such as the STS2, while some versions also fit related models including the STS and RTS2 depending on the specific mount.

The series stands out for its platform-specific approach. Instead of relying on one universal adapter, C-More offers dedicated solutions for different interfaces and firearms, including dovetail mounts, Weaver/Picatinny rail mounts, 3/8-inch rail mounts, scope-tube mounts, and firearm-specific kits. Within the lineup are versions for pistols such as the Sig P226, Beretta 92, and Glock variants, alongside adapters for optic-ready cuts and other mounting patterns. That makes the series relevant to competition shooters, recreational handgun users, and anyone building a compact red-dot setup around a known C-More footprint. The overall design philosophy is practical: match the sight to the host firearm with a mount intended for that exact application, while keeping the installation compact and mechanically straightforward.

About the C-More STS Dovetail Mount - Sig P226

The C-More STS Dovetail Mount - Sig P226 is a handgun optic mount made for shooters who want to install a compatible C-More miniature red dot on a Sig P226 using a dovetail-based solution. Its main advantage is application-specific fit. Rather than adding a larger rail section or using a more general-purpose adapter, this mount is tailored to the pistol platform and the C-More micro-sight interface, which helps keep the installation compact and purpose-built.

The mount uses the C-More RTS/STS mounting standard, making it suitable for optics built around that footprint. In practice, that matters because it keeps the optic-to-mount relationship consistent with the sight family C-More designed it for, reducing guesswork when pairing the mount with compatible RTS or STS-pattern sights. For shooters building a handgun red-dot setup for range work or competition-style use, that compatibility is the key function of the mount.

Its aluminium construction supports that role well. Aluminium keeps unnecessary weight off the pistol while still offering the stiffness expected from a fixed optic base, so the handgun retains a more natural balance than it would with a bulkier mounting solution. As a fixed handgun mount, it also favors simplicity: fewer extra interfaces, a lower-profile concept, and a straightforward route to mounting a C-More micro red dot on a Sig P226.

About C-more

C-MORE Systems has offered sights since 1993 and is based in Warrenton, Virginia, United States. The company focuses on sighting equipment, with particular strength in red dot sights and rifle scopes. Its red-dot lineup includes families such as RTS2, STS2, RTS3, CRC, Railway, Slide Ride, and Serendipity, covering compact pistol optics as well as larger reflex-style designs.

That background is directly relevant here because C-More also produces the mounting hardware needed to support those optics across different firearms and interfaces. In addition to sights, the company offers products such as the C3 1-6x24 rifle scope, showing that its product range extends beyond reflex optics while remaining centered on aiming systems. For shooters using C-More footprints and sight families, the brand is known for offering both the optic and the dedicated mount as part of the same ecosystem.

I have a sigP226 mk25 navy. I don't want to mill the slide. Will this adaptor plate work?

by Martin

Dear Sir!

Yes — the C-More STS dovetail mount STSMT-140 is designed to install into the factory rear-sight dovetail on a Sig P226, so it will let you mount C-More STS/STS2/RTS2 sights without milling the slide (it replaces the rear sight rather than requiring an optic cut).

A few practical notes so you don’t run into surprises:

  1. What it actually does

    • The STSMT-140 is a dovetail plate that installs where the factory rear sight sits and provides the STS/STS2/RTS2 footprint for your red dot — no slide milling required.

  2. What to check on your MK25 before buying/installing

    • Make sure your MK25 has the standard removable rear-sight dovetail (most P226 / MK25 slides do).

    • If your MK25 has fixed or welded sights (uncommon), or some factory modification, then this mount won’t install without slide work.

  3. Performance and tradeoffs to expect

    • Dovetail adapters are a perfectly valid no-mill solution, but they usually sit slightly higher than a milled / recessed optic — check sight picture/cowitness with your iron sights after mounting.

    • A dovetail mount is mechanically different than a cut slide (some shooters prefer a milled slide for the lowest possible optic height and the most permanent mounting). Many shooters are happy with dovetail adapters for range/defensive use.

  4. Installation tips

    • Remove the factory rear sight, install the C-More dovetail plate per the included instructions and hardware, torque screws as recommended, and verify zero and mechanical security before use. The plate is sold with mounting hardware; follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
