AGM Asp-Micro TM-160 Short Range Thermal Imaging Monocular Product description

  • Compact thermal monocular: The short, light housing at 270.00 g and 161.00 mm is easy to carry in a pocket or pack, making it practical for quick checks on foot, from a vehicle, or during routine patrol work.
  • 384x288 VOx sensor: The VOx Uncooled thermal detector with 35.00 mK NETD helps separate heat signatures from the background more clearly, which is useful when scanning in poor light, haze, or complete darkness.
  • 720x540 LCOS display: A higher-resolution display than the sensor itself gives the image a cleaner, easier-to-read presentation, reducing eye strain during longer observation sessions and helping with target recognition at short to medium distances.
  • Recording and image capture: Built-in still-image and video recording let the monocular document observations as they happen, which is useful for inspection work, incident review, and sharing findings after the session.
  • Field-ready construction: Waterproof and fogproof construction, a -20°C to 55°C working range, and USB Type-C power support make the unit easier to rely on in changing weather and during extended time outdoors.

About the AGM ASP Series

AGM ASP is a family of handheld thermal-imaging monoculars built for observation rather than weapon mounting, with the range covering both compact Asp-Micro models and larger ASP TM variants. Across the series, AGM positions these units for users who need thermal detection in a portable format for patrolling, law enforcement, search and rescue, hiking, and hunting. The design emphasis is on quick deployment, simple handheld use, and practical onboard functions rather than the bulk of a larger thermal device.

Within the series, AGM describes the ASP line as using uncooled vanadium-oxide thermal detectors, paired with features such as image capture, video recording, hot-spot marking, distance measurement, and Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity on ASP-Micro and ASP TM models. That combination gives the series a broad role: it can work as a compact spotting tool for outdoor users, but it also suits professional observation tasks where thermal contrast matters more than visible-light detail. The ASP family stands out for combining a small handheld format with the core functions many users expect from modern thermal imaging devices.

About the AGM Asp-Micro TM-160 Short Range Thermal Imaging Monocular

The AGM Asp-Micro TM-160 is a compact thermal monocular designed for short-range detection and fast handheld observation. Its 1.00 x optical magnification keeps the image natural and easy to interpret while scanning nearby terrain, buildings, tree lines, or access routes. That makes it especially useful when the priority is rapid area awareness rather than detailed long-range identification. With a 216.00 m/1000m field of view and a stated 1250.00 m detection range, it gives the user a broad thermal picture while still offering enough reach to pick up heat sources well beyond normal visible-light limits.

The thermal core uses a 384x288 VOx Uncooled sensor with 35.00 mK NETD and a 50.00 Hz refresh rate. In practice, that means smoother image movement while panning and better separation of subtle temperature differences, which helps when animals, people, or equipment do not stand out strongly from the background. The 720x540 LCOS display presents that thermal data in a clear viewing format suited to prolonged observation.

This model also supports image capture and video recording, adding value for documentation and review. A battery life of 7.00 h supports extended field use, while the USB Type-C power interface simplifies charging from common power sources. With its waterproof and fogproof construction, compact dimensions, and low weight, the TM-160 is well suited to users who need a thermal imaging monocular that is easy to carry and quick to deploy.

About AGM Global Vision

AGM Global Vision was founded in 2019 by Gary Tarakanov and Mark Tarakanov and is based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. The company focuses on thermal imaging, night vision, and digital optics, with a product range that includes thermal and night-vision monoculars and binoculars, weapon sights, and illumination devices. In this category, AGM is known for building a broad catalog that covers handheld observation devices as well as dedicated sighting systems.

Its lineup includes thermal families such as the Rattler and thermal scope lines such as the Adder, while its night-vision range includes image-intensifier options from Generation 2 to Generation 3. AGM also expanded its handheld thermal offering with the Sidewinder series in 2023 and introduced the Spectrum LRF 4K digital day/night scope in 2024. That mix shows a company centered on electro-optics for hunting, observation, and professional field use.

Hello... I am interested in thermal monocoloures and my eyes were drawn to the models "Hikmicro LYNX LC06" and "AGM Asp-Micro TM-160 Short Range"... The price is almost the same, I would have this for occasional use...I would also like to know how is this thing in this price range compared to others that are a few euros more expensive? Thanks for the replies and lp

Pozdravljeni...

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your question.

Both devices represent the entry class of thermal monoculars and are solid for their price and best suited for observing up to 50m. For longer distances, we recommend the slightly higher end of the price range.

We are also available for any further questions at [email protected]

Greetings

Lep pozdrav
