Sightron S1 4-12x40 G2

• 4-12x magnification range: covers the practical middle ground between close woodland shots and more deliberate shooting across open fields, so one riflescope can suit stalking, general hunting and rimfire use.
• 40 mm objective with MC-333 multi-coatings: helps maintain a clear, contrast-rich image while reducing flare, which makes target definition easier in mixed light and against darker backgrounds.
• Second focal plane G2 reticle: keeps the reticle visually consistent through the zoom range, giving a familiar sight picture that many hunters prefer for fast, uncomplicated aiming.
• Capped hunting turrets: protect the adjustment settings from accidental movement while carrying the rifle in a vehicle, on a sling or through brush, helping preserve zero in the field.
• Lightweight 1-inch aluminum tube: keeps overall weight to just 386.00 g while still providing waterproof, fogproof and shockproof durability for regular outdoor use.

About the Sightron SI Hunter Series

The Sightron SI Hunter series was developed as a practical hunting-focused line built around straightforward operation, familiar reticle choices and a compact 1-inch tube format. Within Sightron’s broader riflescope range, it represented the company’s more traditional hunting concept, aimed at shooters who wanted dependable field performance without the bulk or complexity of more specialized tactical optics. The line included both hunting and Field Target configurations, showing that the series was designed to cover everyday sporting use as well as more deliberate precision-oriented applications.

Reticle options in the series included Duplex, Mil-Dot, Hunter Holdover, Crosshair and MOA-20, giving users a choice between simple aiming references and more measurement-oriented layouts. That variety made the family suitable for everything from general deer hunting to rimfire shooting and informal target work. The SI Hunter concept also emphasized a conventional riflescope layout with practical magnification ranges, manageable weight and uncomplicated controls. In current Sightron listings, the S1 series carries that role forward, preserving the same emphasis on usable hunting optics with classic proportions and field-friendly handling.

About the Sightron S1 4-12x40 G2

The Sightron S1 4-12x40 G2 is a classic variable-power hunting riflescope built for shooters who want more reach than a low-power woods optic, while still keeping the rifle light and well balanced. Its 4-12x magnification range is broad enough for short-to-medium hunting distances at the low end and careful shot placement at the high end, making it a sensible fit for stalking, general-purpose hunting rifles and many rimfire setups. The 40.00 mm objective helps keep the scope trim, while the multicoated optical system is designed to preserve contrast and image clarity across the zoom range.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, so the reticle appearance stays the same as magnification changes. In practice, that gives a consistent sight picture that many hunters find quicker and less distracting in the field. The non-illuminated layout also keeps operation simple, with no brightness controls or battery dependence to manage. A fast-focus eyepiece allows quick reticle sharpening to the shooter’s eye, which is useful when moving between users or setting up the scope after mounting.

Mechanically, the scope follows a traditional hunting pattern with capped turrets, 1/4 MOA click value and 60.00 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment. That setup favors zero retention and protection over frequent dialing, which suits rifles carried in the field. The 1-inch tube, 312.00 mm length and 386.00 g weight keep the package compact and easy to mount, while nitrogen filling, IPX-7 waterproofing, fogproof construction and shockproof design support reliable use in changing weather and rough handling.

About Sightron

Sightron was originally based in Miami, Florida, and later moved its headquarters to North Carolina. The company began with red-dot sights and later expanded into hunting riflescopes and target scopes, building a product range that also includes binoculars and spotting scopes. Its catalog covers both field and precision applications, with series such as SII, SIIB Big Sky, SIII, S-TAC and SV alongside its hunting-focused models.

In riflescopes, Sightron is particularly known for technologies such as ExacTrack, used for windage and elevation adjustment in several series, and Zact-7 Revcoat, its lens multicoating technology. Sightron riflescopes are manufactured in Japan, and the brand has built its reputation around practical optical performance, repeatable mechanics and a lineup that serves both hunters and target shooters.
