Schmidt & Bender Hungaria 2.5-10x56 Illum.

• 56 mm low-light objective: The large objective lens gathers more usable light at dawn, dusk and in dense woodland, helping the image stay bright when game is most active.
• 2.5-10x hunting magnification range: The zoom range covers both shorter woodland shots and more deliberate shooting across open ground, so one riflescope suits several hunting styles.
• First focal plane illuminated reticle: The reticle scales with magnification, which keeps its subtensions consistent and makes holdover references more intuitive across the zoom range, while red illumination helps the aiming point stand out in poor light.
• 30 mm tube with robust construction: The nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof design is built for field use in changing weather, with dependable internal protection for hunting rifles.
• Fast-focus eyepiece and rail mount: Quick diopter adjustment helps bring the reticle into sharp focus rapidly, while the integrated mounting rail provides a secure installation on compatible rifle setups.

About the Schmidt & Bender Klassik - Hungaria Series

The Schmidt & Bender Klassik - Hungaria series was developed as a line of traditional hunting riflescopes built around the same general specifications and design layout associated with the Klassik family. Schmidt & Bender positioned Hungaria models for practical hunting use, covering applications such as driven hunting, high-seat hunting and mountain hunting, rather than narrowly specialized target work.

Manufactured at the company’s Hungarian subsidiary, Hungaria riflescopes were made to the same quality standards as the brand’s other scopes. The line included both fixed- and variable-magnification models, as well as illuminated and non-illuminated versions, giving hunters a choice between simpler daylight setups and optics better suited to poor light. Across the range, the emphasis was on proven hunting magnification ranges, straightforward controls and optical layouts that favor dependable field use over unnecessary complexity. That makes the series a good fit for hunters who want classic Schmidt & Bender handling with configurations tailored to real hunting conditions.

About the Schmidt & Bender Hungaria 2.5-10x56 Illum.

The Schmidt & Bender Hungaria 2.5-10x56 Illum. is a low-light hunting riflescope built for the kind of shooting where image brightness matters most. Its 2.5-10x magnification range gives it broad hunting versatility: the lower end remains practical for shorter distances and moving game, while the upper end provides enough image scale for more careful shot placement in open terrain or from a high seat. The 56 mm objective lens is the defining feature here, because it helps maintain a bright sight picture in the first and last light of the day.

This model uses an illuminated first focal plane reticle, so the reticle changes size with magnification and keeps its proportional relationship to the target. In practice, that is useful for hunters who want reticle references to remain consistent instead of changing meaning as magnification changes. The red illumination is intended to improve aiming point visibility in dim conditions without overwhelming the sight picture. With a fixed 100 m parallax setting, operation stays simple and fast, which suits hunting rifles carried for field use rather than adjusted constantly from position to position.

The riflescope’s 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction support reliable use in cold mornings, wet weather and rough transport. A fast-focus eyepiece helps the shooter set the reticle sharply to their eyesight, and the integrated rail mounting interface provides a stable installation on compatible rifles. At 630 g and 385 mm in length, it remains a substantial but still practical choice for hunters who prioritize low-light performance.

About Schmidt & Bender

Schmidt & Bender was founded in 1957 by Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Bender in Biebertal-Fellingshausen, Germany, and the company remains headquartered in Biebertal, Germany. It is known for making precision riflescopes for hunting, competition shooting, police and military use, with product families that include Zenith and PM II.

The company expanded its manufacturing base in 1992 by establishing a Hungarian subsidiary built on an optical department acquired from the Hungarian company MOM. That background is directly relevant to the Hungaria line, which reflects Schmidt & Bender’s long-standing focus on durable mechanical construction, dependable optical performance and purpose-built riflescope designs for demanding field use.
