Safariland 7378 7TS ALS Paddle and Belt Loop Holster for Glock 17 Gen 1-5 X300U SAFSEV

• ALS retention system: The Automatic Locking System secures the pistol as soon as it is holstered, giving a higher level of retention without adding a slow, complicated draw stroke.
• Paddle and belt loop carry options: The supplied paddle and belt loop let the holster adapt to different carry preferences, making it easier to set up for daily OWB use, range work or cross-draw applications.
• SafariSeven nylon blend: This proprietary non-marking material is designed to resist abrasion on the firearm’s finish while standing up to hard use, weather and repeated training.
• Open-top design: By combining active retention with an open-top layout, the holster supports a fast, natural presentation while still keeping the handgun locked in place until the release is activated.
• Raised interior stand-offs: The interior geometry creates space for dirt and moisture to clear more easily, helping the holster keep working smoothly in wet, dusty or demanding field conditions.

About the 7TS Series

Safariland 7TS holsters are built around the company’s SafariSeven proprietary nylon blend, a material developed for users who need a rigid, hard-shaped holster that remains dependable in changing environments. Within the Safariland lineup, the 7TS series sits as a modern polymer holster family for professional users, armed citizens and range shooters who want secure retention with lower maintenance than traditional leather designs.

A defining trait of the series is its focus on practical durability. The material is non-abrasive to the firearm’s finish, resists weather exposure and remains structurally sound across a very wide temperature range. Many 7TS models also use Safariland’s ALS retention system, which locks the pistol automatically on holstering and releases with a thumb motion during the draw. That combination gives the series a clear purpose: fast access with active retention. Across the family, 7TS holsters are commonly chosen for OWB carry, training, duty-related use and concealment setups where a stable draw, hard-shell protection and resistance to dirt, moisture and temperature matter more than minimal bulk.

About the Safariland 7378 7TS ALS Paddle and Belt Loop Holster for Glock 17 Gen 1-5 X300U SAFSEV

The Safariland 7378 7TS ALS is an OWB belt holster built for users who want the security of active retention without giving up draw speed. Configured here for the Glock 17 Gen 1-5 with X300U, it is shaped for a consistent fit around the pistol and weapon light combination, which helps the handgun seat positively and draw cleanly. The ALS mechanism locks the pistol automatically when holstered, then releases with a thumb movement as the firing grip is established. In practice, that means the holster adds retention without forcing an awkward or delayed presentation.

This model also stands out for its carry flexibility. The paddle and belt loop combination allows the holster to be set up for different belt-mounted roles, and the injection-molded belt loop is user-adjustable for cant and can be worn cross-draw. That makes the 7378 useful for concealed OWB carry, training days and general handgun use where one mounting style may not suit every situation. The open-top design keeps the draw stroke straightforward, while the rigid polymer body maintains its shape for easier reholstering.

Material choice is another key part of the design. Built from SafariSeven, the holster is made to resist weather and temperature extremes while remaining non-marking to the firearm’s finish. Safariland’s raised interior stand-offs create clearance for dirt and moisture to move away from the pistol, which is especially useful when the holster is exposed to rain, dust or regular outdoor use.

About Safariland

Safariland was established in 1964 by Neale Perkins, who began the business in Sierra Madre, California as a holster maker. Over time, the company expanded well beyond holsters and today its product range includes armor, holsters, accessories and communications equipment. Safariland serves a broad user base that includes law enforcement, military, fire and rescue, competitive shooting and everyday markets, which helps explain the practical, duty-oriented design seen across its handgun carry products.

For holsters, Safariland is especially known for retention systems developed around real-world carry and deployment needs. The company’s ALS system uses an internal lock that secures the firearm and releases with a thumb lever, combining security with a natural draw motion. In the 7TS family, Safariland also uses SafariSeven, a proprietary nylon blend created for hard use and environmental resistance. That focus on retention, durability and repeatable access has made the brand a long-standing reference point in polymer duty and concealment holsters.
