Recknagel Rear Ring with Windage Adjustment for Suhl-Claw Mount, 30 mm

• Windage-adjustable rear ring: The rear ring allows lateral correction at the mount itself, which helps align the scope precisely on classic Suhl claw setups and can reduce the need to use up internal riflescope adjustment.
• Built for 30 mm scopes: The 30 mm ring size fits a wide range of modern hunting optics, making this rear ring suitable for combining traditional claw-mount architecture with current riflescope formats.
• Steel construction: Steel gives the ring the rigidity and wear resistance needed for a detachable mount that is repeatedly removed and refitted, helping the assembly stay secure over long-term use.
• Made for Suhl claw mounts: This rear ring is designed specifically for Suhl claw scope mounts, supporting the precise hand-fitted character of this traditional mounting system on classic hunting rifles.
• Choice of heights and extensions: Availability in multiple BH heights and with 0 mm or 20 mm KR extension options makes it easier to configure scope position and objective clearance for the individual rifle and optic.

About the Recknagel Suhl-Claw Mounts Series

Recknagel Suhl-Claw Mounts continue a mounting concept that was developed by Suhl gunsmiths in the 1920s and remains closely associated with classic European hunting rifles. The system is intended for shooters who want a traditional detachable mount rather than a standardized rail solution, especially on repeaters, drillings and other rifles where period-correct styling and careful fitting matter as much as function.

The defining layout uses a front hook and rear locking mechanism so the scope can be removed and reattached without tools. When the mount is properly fitted to the firearm, the design is intended to return the optic to the same position after refitting, which is one of the reasons the Suhl claw mount has remained relevant for hunters who alternate between scoped and open-sight use. Recknagel keeps the series in production in versions for different scope-tube diameters and also offers upper parts for manufacturer-specific rails. The series stands out for its traditional mechanical design, its reliance on individual fitting rather than universal interfaces, and its suitability for hunters who value a classic detachable mounting system with repeatable positioning.

About the Recknagel Rear Ring with Windage Adjustment for Suhl-Claw Mount, 30 mm

The Recknagel Rear Ring with Windage Adjustment for Suhl-Claw Mount, 30 mm is a specialized rear upper component for traditional claw-mount installations using a 30 mm scope tube. Its role is not simply to hold the scope, but to give the gunsmith or experienced fitter a controlled way to correct lateral alignment within the mount system itself. On classic rifles and hand-fitted Suhl claw mounts, that matters because it helps center the optic more cleanly and preserves more of the riflescope's internal windage travel for actual zeroing in the field.

The ring is made from steel, which suits the demands of a detachable hunting mount that may be removed and replaced many times over its service life. The material supports a stable clamping surface and resists wear where consistent fit is important. With 0 MOA inclination, the ring is intended for standard mounting geometry rather than built-in elevation bias, which is appropriate for traditional hunting setups.

This rear ring is designed for Suhl Claw Scope Mounts, so it belongs in a system that is fitted to the individual firearm rather than treated as a universal drop-on part. The availability of KR extensions in 0 mm or 20 mm, together with multiple BH height options, gives flexibility when positioning the scope for objective clearance, eye alignment and overall balance on the rifle. In practice, that makes it a useful component for restoring, building or refining a classic detachable scope mount around a modern 30 mm hunting optic.

About Recknagel

Recknagel began when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in 1867 in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. The company focuses on firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights and hunting accessories, and its range includes scope mounts, Picatinny rails, triggers, safeties and hunting silencers. This long connection to gunmaking hardware is especially relevant in the mounting category, where precise machining and repeatable fit are more important than broad feature lists.

Over time, the company expanded its portfolio while remaining rooted in German manufacturing. Recknagel relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, introduced the ERATAC line of tactical mounts and accessories in 2010, and added lightweight hunting silencers in 2016. In 2022, the company was acquired by Dr. Moritz Fehrer. For products such as Suhl claw mount components, Recknagel is known for combining traditional mounting designs with current production standards and a broad catalog of rifle-specific and optic-specific parts.
