Recknagel Pivot upper parts, Zastava 70, 30 mm

• Pivot quick-detach design: The Recknagel pivot upper parts let a riflescope be removed and reattached on matching bases with the repeatability expected from a traditional hunting mount, which is useful when switching optics or returning to open sights.
• 30 mm ring interface: Built for scopes with a 30 mm main tube, this upper assembly supports a wide choice of modern hunting optics while keeping the installation matched to the scope body.
• Steel construction: The steel build gives the mount the rigidity and wear resistance needed for long-term use on centerfire rifles, especially where repeated removal and reinstallation are part of normal field use.
• Windage-adjustable design: With adjustable windage, the mount offers extra latitude during setup, helping align the scope cleanly with the rifle and reducing the need to use excessive internal scope adjustment.
• Low hunting profile: The 18.50 mm BH height and 33.50 mm overall height help keep the optic close to the bore for a natural cheek weld and a more consistent shooting position.

About the - Series

Recknagel pivot mounts belong to the classic European school of hunting optics mounting, where the priority is a secure mechanical lock-up combined with the ability to remove and reinstall the scope without turning the rifle into a permanent single-optic setup. In this product family, the upper parts and bases work as a matched system, giving the user a practical way to combine a favored rifle with different optics or to remove the scope for transport, maintenance, or use of backup sights.

The defining idea behind the series is repeatable return-to-zero performance through precise fit and controlled engagement surfaces rather than bulk or unnecessary complexity. These mounts are typically chosen for hunting rifles where reliability, clean handling, and a traditional appearance matter as much as mechanical consistency. Different ring diameters and rifle-specific lower components allow the system to be adapted to many classic bolt-action platforms. The result is a mounting solution that suits hunters who want a durable steel interface, a low-profile installation, and the flexibility of a detachable scope setup that still feels solid in daily use.

About the Recknagel Pivot upper parts, Zastava 70, 30 mm

The Recknagel Pivot upper parts, Zastava 70, 30 mm are the upper half of a rifle-specific pivot mounting system designed for use with compatible lower bases on the Zastava M70 bolt action and related compatible actions. This version is configured for 30 mm scope tubes, making it a practical choice for many modern hunting riflescopes used for driven game, woodland stalking, and general-purpose field shooting.

Its steel construction is central to how the mount performs in real use. Steel gives the rings and locking surfaces the strength to tolerate repeated attachment cycles while maintaining the close tolerances that a pivot mount depends on. For a hunting rifle that may be carried in rough weather, transported in a case, or used with more than one optic over time, that matters more than simple weight reduction. The windage-adjustable design adds useful flexibility during installation by helping center the optic mechanically over the bore, which can preserve more of the riflescope’s internal adjustment range for actual zeroing.

The mount’s 18.50 mm BH height, 33.50 mm overall height, and 0 MOA inclination suit a straightforward hunting setup where a natural head position and a neutral scope alignment are preferred. Finished in black, it keeps a restrained appearance that matches traditional sporting rifles while delivering the practical benefit of a detachable, repeatable scope mounting system.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer focused on firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company’s history began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. Over time, the range expanded beyond sights to include scope mounts, Picatinny rails, triggers, safeties, and later hunting silencers, reflecting a long specialization in precision components for sporting and shooting use.

The brand is particularly well known for its work in mounting solutions for hunting optics, where precise machining and dependable fit are essential. Recknagel also introduced the ERATAC line in 2010 for tactical mounts and accessories, showing the breadth of its expertise across both hunting and professional applications. The company relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and Dr. Moritz Fehrer acquired Recknagel in 2022.
