Recknagel GK Pivot upper parts, Heym SR 20, 36 mm

• Steel upper assembly: The steel construction gives this pivot mount upper high rigidity and wear resistance, helping the optic stay aligned through repeated removal, reinstallation and recoil.
• 36 mm ring interface: Built for scopes with a 36 mm main tube, it provides a secure, correctly matched clamping surface for large-tube hunting optics without relying on reducers or compromise fit.
• Adjustable windage: Integrated lateral adjustment helps center the scope mechanically in the mount, which can preserve more internal riflescope adjustment for zeroing and longer-distance correction.
• 18.50 mm build height: The moderate height helps position the optic clear of the rifle while keeping the sight line controlled for a practical cheek weld and consistent shooting position.
• 0 MOA inclination: A neutral cant suits general hunting and sporting setups where a straightforward zero and conventional trajectory management are preferred over built-in elevation bias.

About the - Series

Recknagel pivot mounts are built around a modular approach for hunters and rifle owners who want a traditional removable mounting system with repeatable positioning. In this family, the upper parts and the rifle-specific bases work together so the mount can be matched to both the firearm and the optic, rather than forcing a one-pattern solution across different actions. That makes the system especially relevant for classic European hunting rifles, combination guns and sporting bolt actions where clean lines and dependable return-to-zero matter.

The series focuses on practical repeatability, solid lock-up and compatibility with common riflescope tube sizes. Depending on configuration, these mounts are offered for a wide range of rifle models and optic diameters, letting the user build a setup around the rifle’s receiver geometry and the scope’s tube dimensions. Steel construction in key versions supports long service life, while the pivot design allows the optic to be removed when needed for transport, access or use of open sights. In use, the concept suits hunters who value a secure mechanical fit, a low-profile installation and the flexibility of a detachable scope mount without moving to a tactical rail-based system.

About the Recknagel GK Pivot upper parts, Heym SR 20, 36 mm

The Recknagel GK Pivot upper parts for the Heym SR 20 are designed as the optic-side component of a two-piece pivot mounting system, pairing with the correct lower bases for the rifle. This version is made for 36 mm scope tubes, a format often chosen for premium hunting optics with large adjustment ranges or specialized low-light designs. By matching the ring diameter directly to the scope tube, the mount avoids unnecessary adapters and gives the optic a more stable seating surface.

The steel body is the key mechanical feature here. For a detachable mount, material stiffness and long-term resistance to wear are critical because the contact surfaces must keep their fit over repeated mounting cycles. That makes this upper assembly well suited to rifles that are carried often, used in changing weather and expected to hold zero after the scope is removed and reattached. Adjustable windage adds another practical advantage: it allows the scope to be aligned more precisely in the mount itself, which can reduce the need to use excessive internal windage correction in the riflescope.

With a height of 18.50 mm and 0 MOA inclination, this configuration favors a straightforward hunting setup rather than a long-range canted arrangement. It is a sensible choice for shooters who want a clean installation on a compatible Heym-pattern pivot base, especially when building a traditional hunting rifle around a large-tube scope and a detachable mounting system.

About Recknagel

Recknagel began with Adolf Recknagel’s manufacture of firearm sights in 1867 in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. The company is known as a German specialist in firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights and hunting accessories, with a product range that also includes Picatinny rails, triggers, safeties and silencers. This background is directly relevant to scope mounting products, because the brand’s reputation is built on precise mechanical interfaces for sporting and hunting rifles.

In more recent company history, Recknagel relocated to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, expanded its tactical offering with the ERATAC line in 2010, and added lightweight hunting silencers in 2016. In 2022, the company was acquired by Dr. Moritz Fehrer. Across these developments, Recknagel has remained closely associated with German-made mounting hardware for hunters, sport shooters and gunsmiths who need dependable fit and repeatable optic positioning.
