Real Avid AR15 Scraper

• 12-surface carbon removal: The scraper is shaped to reach a wide range of critical AR15 bolt carrier group surfaces, helping remove stubborn fouling more thoroughly than a brush alone and reducing the time spent on detailed cleaning.
• BCG-focused design: It works on the bolt, firing pin, bolt carrier and cam pin, so one compact tool covers the parts where carbon buildup most often affects reliability and smooth cycling.
• Safer handling: The swiveling hand guard helps shield the hand from the scraping edges during use, giving better control when working on heavily fouled parts.
• Portable maintenance tool: Its compact format fits easily in a bench kit or range bag, making it practical for routine cleaning at home or for quick maintenance between range sessions.
• Faster than solvent-only cleaning: By mechanically breaking up baked-on deposits, the tool speeds up maintenance and helps restore parts to a cleaner condition with less effort.

About the AR15 Series

Real Avid’s AR15 maintenance tools are built around the idea that the AR-platform benefits from purpose-made service equipment rather than general cleaning tools. Within the company’s lineup, this family sits alongside its broader gun-care and armorer products, but focuses specifically on the parts, dimensions and maintenance needs of the AR15. That makes the series especially relevant for shooters who run their rifles regularly for training, recreational shooting or field use and want a more efficient way to keep critical components clean.

The series is defined by AR-specific geometry, compact carry-friendly formats and designs that simplify common maintenance tasks. Instead of relying only on brushes, patches and picks, these tools are shaped for the surfaces that collect fouling most heavily, particularly around the bolt carrier group. The result is a product family aimed at faster, more repeatable maintenance with less guesswork. Across the range, the emphasis is on practical handling, portability and targeted cleaning performance, making the AR15 series a good fit for shooters who want dedicated tools that support reliable rifle function without adding unnecessary bulk to a cleaning kit.

About the Real Avid AR15 Scraper

The Real Avid AR15 Scraper is a dedicated carbon-removal tool made for one of the dirtiest parts of the rifle: the AR15 bolt carrier group. Instead of approaching fouling with a generic pick or brush, this tool uses purpose-shaped scraping surfaces to match the contours of the bolt, firing pin, carrier and cam pin. In practice, that means less time fighting baked-on carbon and a more controlled way to clean the areas that directly influence cycling and reliability.

One of the model’s main strengths is its ability to clean 12 critical BCG surfaces. That broad coverage matters because carbon does not build up evenly; it collects in recesses, on contact surfaces and around small-diameter parts where ordinary tools can be slow or awkward to use. By addressing both small and large firing pin diameters as well as interior and exterior fouling points, the scraper helps make detailed maintenance more consistent. This is especially useful for shooters who want to keep an AR15 running smoothly without turning every cleaning session into a long bench job.

The tool is also designed with day-to-day usability in mind. Its swiveling hand guard improves control and adds a measure of protection while scraping, which is helpful when working with firm pressure on stubborn deposits. The compact format makes it easy to keep in a cleaning box or range bag, so it suits both scheduled maintenance and quick post-range cleanup. For AR15 owners who want a simple, dedicated gun-care accessory, this model offers a focused solution for one of the rifle’s most maintenance-sensitive assemblies.
