Professor Optiken Staffelsee 3-18x56 Product description

Feature Highlights

  • LD Coated Optics: The low-dispersion (LD) lens coating reduces chromatic aberration (color fringing) at the edges of objects, resulting in a sharper, more color-accurate sight picture.
  • Fiber Optic Reticle 4 with Illuminated Dot: A fine, low-coverage reticle with a centered illuminated dot offers precise aiming without obscuring the target, useful for both daylight and low-light hunting.
  • 11 Illumination Levels: The illuminated dot can be dimmed across 11 brightness settings, from subtle low-light use to full daylight visibility, with minimal stray light even at the highest setting.
  • Side Parallax Adjustment: Parallax can be corrected from 10 meters to infinity, letting shooters maintain a sharp image when switching between different distances.
  • All-Metal Moving Components: The turrets and adjustment mechanisms are made entirely of metal rather than plastic, supporting long-term mechanical durability under repeated use.
  • Nitrogen-Filled, Waterproof Construction: Sealed to IP6X waterproof rating and purged with nitrogen, with a nano-coating to help prevent lens fogging in humid or wet conditions.

About the Staffelsee Series

The Staffelsee series is Professor Optiken's entry-level line of riflescopes, developed for hunters and sport shooters who want robust, practical optics at an accessible price point. The series spans a wide range of magnification ranges and objective lens diameters, from compact 1x driven-hunt configurations up to higher-magnification models suited to stalking and hide hunting.

Across the range, Staffelsee riflescopes share a common design approach: LD (low dispersion) coated lenses to reduce chromatic aberration, a fiber optic Reticle 4 with a centered illuminated dot positioned on the second focal plane, and all-metal adjustment turrets and moving components housed in a duralumin tube. Every model in the series is nitrogen-filled and waterproof, with a nano-coating applied to help prevent internal fogging.

The series is intended for hunters who want dependable, field-tested optics without paying for the higher-end features found in Professor Optiken's mid-range (Ammersee, Pannonia) or premium (Bodensee, Müritz) lines.

About the Model (Professor Optiken Staffelsee 3-18x56 LD V2)

The Staffelsee 3-18x56 LD V2 pairs a wide 6x zoom range with a 56mm objective lens, giving hunters flexibility from closer-range stalking at 3x up to more precise shot placement at 18x, while the larger objective supports better light gathering in dim conditions such as dawn, dusk, or use with night and thermal imaging attachments.

The fiber optic Reticle 4 sits on the second focal plane, so it keeps a consistent size regardless of magnification, and its fine crosshair design creates minimal target coverage. The centered illuminated dot offers 11 brightness levels, bright enough for full daylight use while still usable at low settings for twilight conditions.

Adjustments are made in 1/4 MOA clicks, with ±60 MOA of both elevation and windage travel, giving a wide range for zeroing and holding across different shooting distances. Side-focus parallax adjustment from 10 meters to infinity allows the shooter to keep the image sharp when moving between distances without needing to reposition.

The scope uses fully multi-coated (FMC) optics with LD glass and nano-coating to improve clarity and reduce fogging, and its 30mm main tube is built from high-strength duralumin, with all adjustment turrets and moving parts made of metal for added durability. The riflescope is nitrogen-filled and rated waterproof to IP6X, and has been tested for 100% shot resistance across common hunting calibers.
