Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Recoil Pad, 1

• Slip-on installation: This recoil pad fits over the buttstock without stock modification, making it a practical way to reduce felt recoil while preserving the rifle’s original finish.
• Decelerator material: Pachmayr’s recoil-reducing compound helps soften the rearward impulse of hard-kicking rifles, which can make longer range sessions more comfortable and easier on the shoulder.
• Speed-Mount insert: The smooth insert is designed to help the rifle come to the shoulder with less snagging on clothing, which is especially useful in hunting situations where a fast mount matters.
• Large stock fit: This size is intended for larger rifle buttstocks, helping achieve a more secure fit on stocks measuring 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" wide and 5-3/16" to 5-7/16" long.
• Added shooting comfort: By cushioning recoil at the shoulder, the pad can help reduce fatigue and flinching, supporting steadier shooting with heavier calibers.

About the Pachmayr Accessories Series

Pachmayr Accessories covers a broad range of shooting products that includes recoil pads for rifles and shotguns, along with handgun, revolver and rifle grip options. Within the line, the emphasis is on practical upgrades that improve control, comfort and handling without unnecessary complexity. That makes the series well suited to hunters, recreational shooters and experienced rifle owners who want proven accessories for field or range use.

A defining part of the series is Pachmayr’s long association with recoil-reducing pad designs. The family includes products built around the company’s well-known Decelerator material, which is used to soften felt recoil while maintaining a secure, durable interface with the firearm. In the current lineup, rifle accessories remain focused on straightforward functional gains: better recoil management, improved mounting characteristics and a fit that works with common sporting-rifle stock dimensions. The result is a series aimed at shooters who value dependable handling improvements over cosmetic changes.

About the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Recoil Pad, 1

The Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Recoil Pad, 1 is a simple rifle accessory built to make heavier-recoiling rifles more manageable without permanent alteration to the stock. Its main advantage is the combination of Decelerator recoil-reducing material with a slip-on format, giving shooters a practical way to add cushioning at the shoulder for hunting rifles, range rifles or older firearms that they prefer not to modify. That makes it especially useful for reducing discomfort during repeated firing and for helping limit the flinch that can develop with hard-kicking calibers.

This version is sized for large buttstocks, fitting stocks that measure 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" wide and 5-3/16" to 5-7/16" long. Correct sizing matters in a slip-on pad because it helps the pad stay in place under recoil and keeps the rifle feeling consistent when mounted. Pachmayr also uses its Speed-Mount insert, a design intended to promote a smoother shoulder mount with less tendency to catch on clothing. In practice, that is valuable on hunting rifles carried in jackets or heavier outerwear, where a sticky pad can slow the mount at the wrong moment.

At 170.00 g, the pad adds useful recoil cushioning without turning the rifle into a bulky setup. For shooters looking for a non-permanent recoil solution for a rifle stock, this model focuses on the essentials: fit, comfort and cleaner handling in the field.

About Pachmayr

Pachmayr was founded by Frank Pachmayr in 1929 and built its reputation around practical shooting accessories for handguns, rifles and shotguns. The company is known for products such as handgun grips, recoil pads and gunsmithing tools, with recoil control remaining one of its most recognizable specialties. Pachmayr introduced its first recoil pad in 1949, and the brand later developed a strong following for products that use its Decelerator material to reduce felt recoil in real shooting conditions.

The brand became part of Lyman in 1996, and Pachmayr production later moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, in 2014. Across its history, Pachmayr has remained closely associated with firearm handling upgrades that are straightforward, durable and purpose-built for shooters who want functional improvements rather than cosmetic changes.
