Optik Arms Picatinny rail - CZ 557 SA Product description

About Picatinny Rail

The Picatinny rail system is meticulously designed with slots spaced at exact intervals of 5.23 mm, ensuring both consistent and versatile use throughout its length. This precision allows for straightforward mounting and guarantees universal compatibility, ensuring that scopr mounts tailored for a Picatinny rail will seamlessly fit, irrespective of the manufacturer or date of production. Favored for its cost-effectiveness, robustness, and dependability, the Picatinny rail is increasingly popular among experts and military users, becoming the top choice in the scope mounts market in recent years.

The Picatinny framework marks a notable enhancement over the traditional Weaver standard. Unlike the Weaver system, which has only a limited number of slots, the Picatinny rail boasts continuous slots across its entirety, providing enhanced flexibility for positioning devices at any desired point. Additionally, the slots on a Weaver rail are slimmer, measuring 3.8 mm, which permits scope mounts made for Weaver rails to be used on a Picatinny rail. However, due to differences in the width of the recoil stoppers, scope mounts specifically designed for the Picatinny rail cannot be accommodated on Weaver rails. This level of compatibility and adaptability makes the Picatinny rail a superior option for a variety of mounting needs.

Design of the Rail

The Optik Arms Picatinny rail - CZ 557 SA, is precision-engineered from steel, offering superior durability and wear resistance compared to aluminum alternatives. This high-strength construction ensures exceptional repeatability, even with frequent use.

The picatinny rail features 13 slots. A unique central channel enhances functionality by allowing simultaneous use of the rifle's iron sights, serving as a reliable backup when no accessories are mounted.

This picatinny rail is attached to the rifle with 19mm Flat Top Dovetail

Mounting Instructions

Clean the rifle's receiver thoroughly with a cleaning fluid, such as acetone, to remove all stains, grease, and oil. Once the surface is clean and dry, verify that the screws fit both the rail and the receiver holes. Before mounting the rail, apply a minimal amount of thread-locking fluid (278 or 648) to the screws, avoiding any contact with the mounting holes. Carefully clean any excess fluid around the rail using the cleaning fluid. Using a torque driver, tighten the screws to the appropriate torque (up to 3 Nm/26.5 in-lbs). If you require any mounting tools, you can find them on our Rifle Scope Mounting Tools page.
