Minox X-Tour 8x34 Product description

  • Compact 8x34 format: The 8x magnification gives a steady, easy-to-hold view, while the 34 mm objective keeps the binocular trim enough for stalking, travel, and everyday field use.
  • ED lens system: ED glass helps reduce color fringing and improves contrast, so fine detail stays cleaner when watching wildlife, scanning woodland edges, or following birds against bright backgrounds.
  • Wide 140 m field of view: A broad view at 1000 m makes it easier to pick up movement quickly and keep animals or birds in sight without constant repositioning.
  • Magnesium housing: The magnesium body keeps weight down at 505.00 g while adding rigidity, which matters when binoculars are carried all day and used regularly in rough outdoor conditions.
  • IPX-7 waterproof and nitrogen filled: The sealed, fogproof construction helps the binocular stay usable in rain, damp cover, and changing temperatures, reducing the risk of internal fogging in the field.

About the Minox X-TOUR Series

The Minox X-TOUR series sits in the brand’s current binocular range as a line of compact hunting and observation binoculars built for users who want lower bulk without giving up practical field performance. The series includes six variants, pairing 8x or 10x magnification with 26 mm, 34 mm, or 42 mm objective lenses, so users can choose between maximum portability and stronger low-light capability.

Across the range, ED lenses and a magnesium housing define the design approach. The optics are intended to deliver a high-contrast, vivid, sharp image, while the light but rigid body keeps the binoculars easy to carry on long walks, hunts, or birding sessions. MINOX positions the X-TOUR for stalking and observation from cover, but the format also suits nature watching and birdwatching where fast handling matters. All models are nitrogen purged and rated IPX7 waterproof, giving the series the weather resistance expected from a field binocular that may be used in rain, cold mornings, or damp woodland conditions.

About the Minox X-Tour 8x34

The Minox X-Tour 8x34 is the balanced middle format in the series, combining 8x magnification with a 34.00 mm objective lens for a useful mix of portability, image stability, and everyday brightness. Compared with smaller pocket models, the 34 mm objective and 4.25 mm exit pupil give the image a more relaxed, easier view, especially in poor light or when glassing for longer periods. At the same time, it remains notably easier to carry than a full-size 42 mm binocular.

The optical layout is tuned for practical field observation. A 140.00 m/1000m field of view helps when scanning woodland rides, hedgerows, or open ground, because it shows more of the scene at once and makes moving subjects easier to track. The stated light transmission of ≥85 (Day) / ≥80 (Night) supports a bright image in mixed daylight conditions and helps preserve usable detail as light fades. The binocular also offers a +/- 5 diopter range, with diopter setting on both eyepieces, allowing the view to be matched to the user’s eyesight.

Mechanically, the X-Tour 8x34 is built for regular outdoor use. Its magnesium body keeps weight to 505.00 g, while the single-hinge design and central focusing system make it quick to bring into action. IPX-7 waterproofing, nitrogen filling, and fogproof construction add reassurance in wet weather, cold starts, and changing temperatures from -25 up to +55. The result is a binocular suited to hunting optics use, general nature observation, and birdwatching where compact size and dependable handling matter more than maximum objective diameter.

About Minox

MINOX GmbH was founded in Wetzlar, Germany, in 1945, building on the work of engineer Walter Zapp, who designed the first MINOX miniature-camera prototype in 1936. Although the company became widely known for compact cameras, it later expanded into sport optics and entered that market in the 1990s. Today, MINOX develops binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, night-vision devices, and wildlife cameras, with a product range aimed at hunting and outdoor observation.

MINOX became an independent company in 2005 after separating from Leica Camera AG, and joined the Blaser Group in 2013. On February 1, 2020, the company relocated to Isny, Germany. In modern sport optics, MINOX is known for combining practical field design with a broad hunting focus, and products such as the ZP riflescope series helped strengthen its position in this category.
