Meprolight Tru-Dot for Heckler & Koch USP

• Self-illuminated tritium system: the three-dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive, duty, or carry use at any hour.
• Consistent 3-dot alignment: the same aiming reference is presented in daylight and darkness, which helps speed up sight acquisition and reduces the need to adapt to a different sight picture as conditions change.
• Adjustable rear sight: windage and elevation adjustment let the sight set be tuned to the pistol and ammunition, giving a more precise point of impact than a non-adjustable setup.
• Steel construction: the all-steel body is better suited to repeated holster use and hard handling than softer materials, helping the sights keep their shape and zero over time.
• Direct replacement format: designed as a replacement front and rear sight set for the Heckler & Koch USP, it upgrades low-light capability while preserving the familiar iron-sight handling of the pistol.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s established line of self-illuminated handgun night sights, built for shooters who want a simple iron-sight system that works in both bright and low-light conditions. In Meprolight’s handgun range, the series covers fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, giving it a broad role across defensive pistols, service handguns, and practical range use. The defining concept is a three-dot sight picture that remains familiar from day to night, so the shooter does not need to transition to a different visual reference as ambient light drops.

The series uses tritium illumination to provide a visible aiming reference without batteries, switches, or charging. That makes Tru-Dot sights especially relevant for pistols carried for personal protection or kept ready for immediate use. Across the range, Meprolight also offers models for numerous handgun platforms and selected color combinations, while adjustable versions add windage and elevation correction for shooters who want a more tailored zero. The overall design philosophy is practical and robust: durable metal construction, a straightforward sight picture, and compatibility as a replacement for factory front and rear sights on supported handguns.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Heckler & Koch USP

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Heckler & Koch USP is a tritium night sight set made for shooters who want to improve the pistol’s usability in reduced light without changing the handling characteristics of the gun. Because it keeps a classic 3-dot alignment, the sight picture remains intuitive in daylight, indoor lighting, and nighttime conditions. That consistency matters on a defensive or duty pistol, where fast visual confirmation is often more important than a complex aiming reference.

This version uses green tritium dots and a square rear sight, a combination that supports quick front-sight pickup while still giving a defined rear notch for deliberate shots. The self-illuminated design means there are no batteries to monitor and no controls to operate under stress. For a pistol that may be carried, stored for home defense, or used on the range, that always-on behavior is a practical advantage.

The sight set also features an adjustable rear sight, allowing correction for windage and elevation so the USP can be matched more closely to a chosen load or point of aim. Combined with the steel construction, this makes the set suitable for regular holster use and repeated shooting, where durability and retained alignment matter as much as visibility. The result is a straightforward upgrade for the USP platform: stronger low-light capability, familiar iron-sight operation, and a more configurable zero than a fixed sight set.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company is a division of SK Group and focuses on the development and manufacture of optical and electro-optical sighting systems. Its work spans conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, and thermal sights, with products built for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines.

That background is relevant to handgun sights such as the Tru-Dot series, because Meprolight’s reputation was built around practical aiming systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian use. In addition to iron sights, the company’s catalog includes magnified optics, magnifiers, night-vision systems, and thermal devices, showing a broad specialization in sighting equipment rather than a narrow focus on a single category. The result is a manufacturer closely associated with durable, service-oriented aiming solutions.
