Meprolight HVS for Canik TP

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive, duty, or carry use at any hour.
• High-Visibility 3-Dot Layout: A bright front sight paired with a clear rear reference helps the eye pick up the front blade faster, which supports quicker alignment at typical handgun distances.
• U-Notch Rear Sight: The U-shaped rear notch gives a more open sight picture than a narrow square notch, making it easier to center the front sight during rapid presentations.
• Steel Construction: The all-steel build stands up better to daily holster wear, recoil, and hard handling than softer materials, which matters on a working or carry pistol.
• Fixed Sight Design: With no adjustment controls to snag or shift, the set favors simple, durable operation for shooters who want a dependable iron-sight upgrade.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series, later renamed Hyper-Bright in 2021, is Meprolight’s family of fixed high-visibility pistol sights built for shooters who need a clear sight picture in both daylight and low light. The design centers on a three-dot arrangement with a U-shaped rear notch, combining fast front-sight acquisition with an uncluttered rear reference that works well on defensive and general-purpose handguns.

These sights use self-illuminated tritium in the front and rear, so they remain visible in darkness without switches or batteries. In daylight, the series relies on strong front-sight contrast, with ring color options such as orange, green, and yellow, to draw the eye where it matters most. The steel construction reflects the series’ practical design philosophy: fixed sights that resist wear, tolerate regular carry, and stay simple to use. Across the range, the HVS or Hyper-Bright concept is aimed at pistol owners who want a durable sight set that improves visibility without changing the handling of the handgun.

About the Meprolight HVS for Canik TP

The Meprolight HVS for Canik TP is a dedicated fixed tritium night sight set made for shooters who want a more visible iron-sight system on a Canik TP pistol without adding batteries or electronic controls. Its combination of a 3-dot sight picture and a green U-notch rear sight is geared toward fast alignment at the short to medium distances where handguns are most often used. The open rear shape helps the front sight stand out, which is useful when drawing quickly, shooting under time pressure, or working in mixed lighting.

The use of self-illuminated tritium means the sight picture remains available in darkness while staying maintenance-free in normal use. That makes the set well suited to defensive carry, home protection, and duty-style roles where lighting conditions can change suddenly. Because the sights are fixed rather than adjustable, the design favors robustness and consistency over added complexity. There are no exposed adjustment parts to snag on gear or drift out of position during daily handling.

The steel housing supports long-term durability on a reciprocating pistol slide, where repeated recoil, holster contact, and general wear can quickly show the limits of lighter materials. Finished in black, the sight body keeps visual distraction low while the illuminated aiming references do the work. For shooters who rely on iron sights as a primary system or as a dependable fallback, this model focuses on visibility, simplicity, and everyday resilience.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian use. It is a division of SK Group.

The company’s range covers tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, thermal sights, and night-vision systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines. That broad focus is relevant here because Meprolight’s handgun sight products come from a manufacturer with long experience in practical aiming systems built for defensive and field use, where durability, visibility, and straightforward operation matter more than unnecessary complexity.
