Meopta MeoPro R6 3-18x56 SFP RD Product description

  • 3-18x magnification range: Covers a wide span from closer woodland shots to deliberate shooting at longer distances, so one riflescope can handle mixed hunting and field use without feeling over-specialized.
  • 56 mm objective lens: The large front lens helps maintain a bright sight picture as light fades, which is especially useful when detail matters most at dawn, dusk, or in shaded terrain.
  • SFP illuminated reticle: The reticle keeps the same apparent size through the zoom range, making it easy to see at high magnification while the red illumination improves aiming contrast against dark backgrounds.
  • Side parallax from 10 m to infinity: Fine parallax correction sharpens the image and reduces aiming error across a wide range of distances, which is valuable for both precise zeroing and longer shots in the field.
  • Capped turrets and 30 mm tube: This combination favors practical reliability, protecting the adjustments from accidental movement while still providing generous elevation and windage travel for careful rifle setup.

About the Meopta MeoPro Series

The Meopta MeoPro series was introduced in 2010 as a line built to deliver strong optical performance in a more accessible part of Meopta’s sporting-optics range. In the riflescope lineup, MeoPro models have traditionally been aimed at shooters and hunters who want dependable mechanics and clear, practical glass without moving into the company’s more specialized premium tiers.

A defining part of the series has been MeoBright 550 ion-assisted lens coatings, developed to support good light transmission, contrast, and image clarity in real field conditions. Earlier MeoPro riflescopes also used MeoTrak II positive-click adjustments, reflecting the series’ emphasis on repeatable handling and straightforward operation. The family originally centered on 1-inch-tube sporting scopes, but the broader MeoPro concept has remained consistent: useful magnification ranges, field-oriented reticle options, and a design philosophy that balances hunting practicality with enough precision for longer shots. In use, MeoPro riflescopes are known for combining a clean optical image, sensible controls, and configurations that suit everything from general stalking to more deliberate distance work.

About the Meopta MeoPro R6 3-18x56 SFP RD

The Meopta MeoPro R6 3-18x56 SFP RD is a versatile 3-18x56 riflescope built for shooters who need one optic to cover varied distances while still favoring low-light performance. At the lower end, 3x remains manageable for closer opportunities and scanning over uneven ground; at 18x, the scope gives enough image scale for careful shot placement, load development, and more deliberate medium- to longer-range work. The 56 mm objective lens and 90% light transmission support a bright image when legal shooting light is fading and target contrast becomes harder to read.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, which keeps the reticle visually consistent as magnification changes. That makes the aiming point easy to pick up at high power without becoming overly fine at lower settings. The red illumination helps the reticle stand out against dark game, shaded woodland, or cluttered backgrounds, while the fast-focus eyepiece allows quick reticle sharpening to the shooter’s eye. Side-focus parallax adjustment from 10 m to infinity adds flexibility for close-range setup, range work, and distant targets by improving image sharpness and reducing apparent reticle shift.

Mechanically, this MeoPro R6 favors field practicality. Capped turrets reduce the chance of accidental adjustment during transport or movement through cover, which suits hunting rifles and general-purpose precision setups. The 30 mm tube provides a robust mounting standard, and the long 92-98 mm eye relief helps maintain comfortable head position and safer clearance on harder-recoiling rifles. With a 368.00 mm length, 915.00 g weight, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction, it is configured for regular outdoor use in changing weather.

About Meopta

Meopta traces its roots to Optikotechna, established in Přerov, Czechoslovakia, in 1933. The company is still based in Přerov, Czech Republic, and it develops and manufactures optical, opto-mechanical, and optoelectronic products. In the sporting segment, Meopta is known for riflescopes, binoculars, and spotting scopes, alongside broader industrial and technical optical work.

That manufacturing background is important in riflescopes because Meopta combines optical design with in-house mechanical expertise. The company’s sports optics use technologies such as MeoBright antireflective coatings and MeoDrop hydrophobic lens coatings, both relevant to field use where image quality and lens surface protection matter. After World War II, Optikotechna was nationalized and renamed Meopta, and the company resumed riflescope production in 1988. Today, Meopta has a long-established reputation for practical European-made optics that emphasize durable construction and clear, usable images rather than unnecessary complexity.

What country is this made in?..also is it a better low light scope than an gpo spectra x4 3-15x50

by James

Dear Sir!

Meopta does not provide specific information regarding the country of manufacture for the MeoPro R6 series.

Compared with the GPO Spectra 4x 3-15x50, the Meopta MeoPro R6 3-18x56 should have a slight advantage in low-light conditions, mainly due to its larger 56 mm objective lens compared with the 50 mm objective of the GPO.
