Levenhuk Ra 150C Cassegrain OTA

1. Advanced Cassegrain Optics: The Ra 150C utilizes a compact Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design, combining a spherical primary mirror with a meniscus corrector lens. This sophisticated arrangement allows for a long focal length within a remarkably short and portable optical tube, delivering excellent contrast and sharpness for detailed celestial observations.

2. Versatile Observation Capabilities: With its 150mm aperture and f/12 focal ratio, this OTA is a powerful instrument for high-resolution planetary viewing and lunar observation, revealing intricate surface details. It also excels at resolving compact deep-sky objects like star clusters and nebulae, providing bright and clear images.

3. Durable and Low-Maintenance Construction: Constructed from robust aluminum, the optical tube ensures long-term durability. The sealed design of the Maksutov-Cassegrain system protects the internal optics from dust and moisture, significantly reducing the need for maintenance like mirror collimation, making it a reliable choice for regular use.

4. Astrophotography Ready: While primarily an observational instrument, the long focal length and good optical correction of the Ra 150C make it a suitable platform for planetary astrophotography. Its compact size also makes it manageable for various mounting setups, appealing to enthusiasts seeking detailed captures of the solar system.

ABOUT THE LEVENHUK RA 150C CASSEGRAIN OTA

The Levenhuk Ra 150C Cassegrain OTA stands out within its series due to its specialized catadioptric (Maksutov-Cassegrain) design. This construction brilliantly folds the light path, allowing a substantial 1800mm focal length to be packed into a comparatively short and compact optical tube. This inherent portability, combined with a 150mm aperture, makes it exceptionally versatile for both backyard astronomy and travel. It particularly excels in high-magnification planetary observation, lunar exploration, and discerning compact deep-sky objects, offering consistently sharp, contrast-rich images with minimal chromatic aberration often seen in simpler designs. Crafted from durable aluminum, the optical tube is robust, while its sealed design minimizes dust ingress and reduces maintenance, distinguishing it from open-tube reflectors. This OTA is designed for users with existing mounts, providing a powerful and low-maintenance optical instrument ready for a wide range of celestial viewing.
