Kite Optics Compact 8x25 Product description

  • Compact folding format: The Kite Optics Compact 8x25 is small enough for a jacket pocket, so it is easy to carry on hikes, day trips, travel, and casual wildlife walks where a full-size binocular would often be left behind.
  • 8x magnification with 25 mm objectives: This combination gives a useful reach for birds, landscapes, and general observation while keeping the binocular light and steady in the hand for quick, spontaneous viewing.
  • Porro prism optical design: The Porro prism layout helps deliver a natural sense of depth and a bright, relaxed image, which is especially welcome in a compact binocular used for extended viewing.
  • 16.00 mm eye relief: The generous eye relief improves comfort for eyeglass wearers and makes it easier to see the full field of view without pressing in too close to the eyepieces.
  • Central focus with close focus to 2.00 m: Fast central focusing keeps operation simple, while the short close-focus distance is practical for nearby details such as insects, flowers, museum exhibits, or trail-side information boards.

About the Kite Optics Compact Series

The Kite Optics Compact series is the brand’s answer for users who want a binocular that is genuinely easy to carry every day without giving up the handling and viewing comfort that often separates better compact optics from entry-level pocket models. Positioned as a lightweight, travel-friendly line within the wider Kite Optics outdoor range, the Compact series is aimed at walkers, hikers, families, nature reserves, and casual birdwatchers who need a binocular that fits easily into a bag or coat pocket.

What defines the series is its focus on small folded dimensions, straightforward operation, and a viewing experience designed to remain comfortable despite the compact format. The series uses a Porro prism construction, central focusing, and multi-coated optics to balance portability with a clear, high-contrast image. Foldable or compact eyepiece geometry and practical interpupillary adjustment also make these binoculars suitable for a broad range of users, including younger observers. In short, the Compact series is built for situations where low weight and convenience matter just as much as optical usability.

About the Kite Optics Compact 8x25

The Kite Optics Compact 8x25 is the more versatile of the two classic compact binocular formats: 8x magnification gives enough reach for wildlife, sightseeing, and general outdoor observation, while the 25.00 mm objective lenses provide a little more viewing ease than ultra-small pocket models. That makes this model a strong fit for hiking binocular use, travel, and everyday carry when space and weight are limited but image comfort still matters.

Its 105.00 m/1000m field of view is wide enough for scanning trails, following moving subjects, and taking in a broader scene without the tunnel-like feel that some compact binoculars can produce. The 16.00 mm eye relief is especially useful for eyeglass wearers, helping them access more of the full image with less effort. A 3.10 mm exit pupil supports a comfortable daytime view, while the Porro prism design contributes to a pleasing sense of depth and image separation.

In practical handling, the binocular stays simple and efficient. The central focusing system allows quick one-handed adjustment, and the 2.00 m close focus makes it useful not only for distant observation but also for nearby details. At 280.00 g, it remains light enough to carry all day, and its compact single-hinge body folds down for easy storage between uses.

About Kite Optics

KITE OPTICS is a Belgian family-owned company that has developed high-precision nature-observation optics since 1992. Headquartered in Jabbeke, Belgium, the company focuses on field optics for outdoor use, with a range that includes binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, and red-dot sights. This broad specialization gives the brand a clear understanding of the different demands placed on optics used for birding, hunting, and general observation.

A notable part of the company’s identity is that it offers both stabilized and traditional optics, covering users who prioritize either maximum viewing steadiness or mechanical simplicity. Across its product families, KITE OPTICS is known for practical field design and for building instruments intended for regular outdoor use rather than occasional novelty use. That background is especially relevant in compact binoculars, where portability, ease of handling, and dependable optical performance need to work together in a very small format.

Does the Kite compact 8x25 contain an Abbe-Koenig prism. ? It seems to in your specifications. .
