HI VIZ LiteWave Rear Sight, Springfield 1911

• Interchangeable LitePipes: The rear sight accepts replaceable fiber-optic LitePipes, so the sight picture can be tuned with different colors to suit lighting conditions, target contrast, or personal preference.
• Factory-height 0.140 wide notch: The factory-height profile keeps the sight picture familiar while the 0.140 notch gives a clear rear window that helps the front sight stand out during faster alignment.
• All-metal steel construction: Steel construction gives the sight the rigidity and wear resistance needed for regular carry, range use, and repeated slide cycling.
• LiteWave exoskeleton design: The diagonal-wave protective structure exposes more of the fiber to ambient light while shielding it from knocks, helping maintain brightness without making the sight delicate.
• Springfield 1911 fixed-sight fit: Built for Springfield Armory 1911 production models with fixed rear sights, this rear unit offers a model-specific replacement rather than a generic compromise fit.

About the Hi Viz LITEWAVE Series

Hi Viz LITEWAVE is a fiber-optic sight family introduced in November 2014 for shooters who want a brighter sight picture without moving to an electronic optic. The series is built around the distinctive diagonal-wave exoskeleton, a structure that both protects the fiber and leaves more of its surface exposed to ambient light. In practical use, that means a sight picture that remains easy to pick up in daylight and in mixed lighting while still standing up to holster wear and routine handling.

A defining feature of the series is its interchangeable LitePipes. Instead of being locked into one color, shooters can change the pipe to better match the background, target type, or personal preference. LITEWAVE sights are also designed to stay holster-friendly, which matters on carry pistols and training guns that are drawn repeatedly. Across the range, the series covers handgun and rifle applications, with front and rear configurations for competition, recreation, hunting, and general daytime or low-light use where fiber optics can make iron sights faster to read.

About the HI VIZ LiteWave Rear Sight, Springfield 1911

The HI VIZ LiteWave Rear Sight, Springfield 1911 is a fixed rear handgun sight made for Springfield Armory 1911 production models with fixed rear sights, excluding the GI and Mil Spec variants. Its role is straightforward: provide a brighter, easier-to-read rear reference than a plain black notch while keeping the handling and profile expected from a traditional 1911 setup. For shooters using a pistol for range work, practical training, or field carry, that means faster sight acquisition without changing the manual simplicity of iron sights.

This model uses interchangeable fiber-optic LitePipes in green and red, allowing the sight picture to be adjusted for different backgrounds and light conditions. The LiteWave structure helps gather ambient light, so the dots appear more visible in daylight and transitional light than standard non-fiber iron sights. Because the sight is fixed, it suits shooters who want a durable, low-maintenance rear unit rather than an adjustable target-style assembly. The 0.140 wide notch gives the front sight more breathing room, which can help the eye center the front blade quickly during controlled pairs, drills, or general defensive-style practice.

Built with all-metal steel construction and finished in black, the sight is intended to handle regular slide movement and everyday use. At 10.00 g, it adds very little weight while giving the pistol a more visible three-dot alignment system for faster visual indexing.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and accessories for firearms. Based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, the company focuses on sighting systems for handguns, shotguns, and rifles, with product lines that include fiber-optic sights, tritium sights, recoil pads, and related shooting accessories. Its best-known technologies include the removable LitePipes used across many of its sight designs, giving shooters a practical way to change color and replace worn light pipes without replacing the whole sight.

Within handgun sights, HiViz is particularly associated with the LITEWAVE, TriViz, and CompSight families. The company’s design approach emphasizes visible sight pictures, durable metal construction, and application-specific fits for popular firearm platforms, which is why its products are common on hunting, competition, and recreational shooting guns.
