HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, Ruger 22/45 Lite

• LiteWave fiber-optic design: The exposed diagonal-wave housing gathers more ambient light around the LitePipe, helping the front sight stand out faster in bright daylight and mixed lighting.
• Factory-height front sight: Built to work with the factory rear sight on compatible Ruger 22/45 LITE pistols, it keeps the sight picture familiar while improving front-sight visibility.
• Interchangeable LitePipes: Supplied with green, red, and white LitePipes, this sight lets shooters tailor contrast to the target, background, and lighting conditions without changing the whole sight.
• All-steel construction: The steel body gives the sight the rigidity and wear resistance needed for regular range use, field carry, and repeated holstering.
• Fixed front-sight simplicity: A fixed front unit avoids extra bulk and moving parts, making it a practical choice for a pistol that is meant to stay durable and easy to maintain.

About the Hi Viz LITEWAVE Series

HIVIZ introduced the LITEWAVE series in November 2014 as a fiber-optic sight family built for shooters who want a brighter sight picture without adding unnecessary complexity. The series is designed to be holster-friendly and suitable for range or field use, which makes it relevant for recreational shooting, competition, training, hunting, and general daytime or low-light work. Rather than relying on a plain fiber rod alone, LITEWAVE sights use a diagonal-wave exoskeleton that exposes more of the LitePipe to ambient light while still protecting it from impact and abrasion.

A defining feature across the family is the use of interchangeable LitePipes. This allows shooters to change sight color to suit the target and background, which is especially useful when moving between indoor ranges, outdoor bays, and field conditions. The LITEWAVE line includes both handgun and rifle variants, with front and rear configurations depending on the firearm platform. Across the range, the design philosophy stays consistent: a strong protective housing, a clear and highly visible aiming reference, and a practical format that improves sight acquisition without changing the handling of the firearm.

About the HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, Ruger 22/45 Lite

The HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, Ruger 22/45 Lite is a dedicated fiber-optic front sight made specifically for Ruger 22/45 LITE pistols with adjustable rear sight. Its role is straightforward but important: it makes the front sight easier to pick up quickly, which helps with faster alignment on small targets, steadier tracking during strings of fire, and less visual effort during long range sessions. On a rimfire pistol often used for practice, plinking, and small-game work, that clearer front reference can make practical shooting feel more consistent.

The sight uses the LiteWave exoskeleton and a 0.090 LitePipe, a combination intended to maximize visible fiber surface while still shielding the insert. In use, that means a bright aiming point that remains easy to see without making the sight body overly bulky. Because the sight is supplied with green, red, and white interchangeable LitePipes, shooters can tune the front-sight color to match lighting conditions or personal preference. Green often stands out strongly in daylight, red can separate well from green backgrounds, and white can provide a different contrast profile on darker targets.

All-steel construction supports durability, while the factory-height format keeps the sight compatible with the factory rear sight on the correct 22/45 LITE configuration. This preserves the pistol’s original handling and sight relationship while delivering a more visible front blade. As a fixed front sight, it also keeps the setup simple, rugged, and well suited to regular use on a training or recreational rimfire handgun.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and shooting accessories based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States. The company focuses on products for handguns, shotguns, and rifles, with its catalog covering fiber-optic sights, tritium sights, recoil pads, and related accessories. A key part of the brand’s identity is its use of removable and reusable LitePipes, which allow shooters to change or replace fiber-optic elements rather than replacing the entire sight.

Within the sight market, HiViz is particularly known for families such as LiteWave, LiteWave H3, TriViz, and CompSight. The company’s designs tend to emphasize practical visibility, durable housings, and compatibility with popular firearm platforms. For handgun sights like this one, that reputation matters because the product is built around a clear front-sight picture, straightforward installation on the intended platform, and a construction style meant for regular shooting use rather than occasional carry alone.
