HI VIZ Interchangeable Front Sight, Taurus 1911

• Interchangeable LitePipe system: The front sight uses HIVIZ removable LitePipes, so the sight picture can be changed to suit different light conditions or shooter preference without replacing the whole sight.
• Fiber-optic front aiming point: A bright green fiber draws the eye quickly, helping faster front-sight acquisition for range work, practical shooting, and general defensive practice.
• Steel construction: The all-steel body gives the sight the durability needed for regular carry, holster use, and repeated recoil on a 1911 platform.
• Fixed front sight format: A non-adjustable design keeps the setup simple and robust, making it well suited to shooters who want a clean replacement front sight with minimal added complexity.
• Model-specific Taurus PT 1911 fit: Built for PT 1911 pistols, this sight offers a platform-specific upgrade that improves visibility over a plain factory-style front blade.

About the Hi Viz Interchangeable Sight Series

The Hi Viz Interchangeable Sight series sits within HIVIZ's Original Sights family and focuses on a simple idea that remains highly practical: a durable steel sight body combined with interchangeable LitePipes. Rather than locking the shooter into one permanent front-sight color, these sights allow the light-gathering insert to be removed, replaced, and reused. That makes the series useful for shooters who move between indoor ranges, bright daylight, and mixed backgrounds where one color may stand out better than another.

Across the range, the series is aimed at everyday shooters and competitive users who want a brighter sight picture without adding electronic components or changing the basic handling of the firearm. HIVIZ offers interchangeable-sight models for handguns, shotguns, and tactical firearms, with platform-specific variants for popular pistols including 1911-pattern guns. The design philosophy is straightforward: keep the sight body strong, keep the aiming reference easy to see, and let the user tailor the front dot color to the task. In practice, that gives the series a strong fit for shooters who value quick visual pickup, simple maintenance, and a more adaptable iron-sight setup.

About the HI VIZ Interchangeable Front Sight, Taurus 1911

The HI VIZ Interchangeable Front Sight, Taurus 1911 is a dedicated fiber-optic front sight for Taurus PT 1911 pistols. Its main advantage is visibility: the green LitePipe creates a bright front aiming point that stands out more clearly than a plain black blade, which helps the eye settle on the front sight faster during presentation and follow-up shots. For a 1911 used on the range, in practical shooting drills, or as a general-purpose sidearm, that clearer front reference can make sight alignment feel more immediate and less visually demanding.

This model belongs to HIVIZ's interchangeable system, so the front insert is not a fixed one-color element. Interchangeable LitePipes let the shooter tune the sight picture for ambient light or target contrast, which is useful when moving from sunny outdoor conditions to darker indoor bays. The sight body itself is steel, giving it the rigidity and wear resistance expected from a handgun sight that may see regular recoil and holster handling. Its fixed configuration also keeps the setup uncomplicated: there are no adjustment controls to snag or shift, just a bright front reference designed to work with the pistol's rear sight arrangement. For shooters who want a straightforward Taurus 1911 front-sight upgrade, this model focuses on faster visual acquisition, durable construction, and the flexibility of replaceable fiber-optic inserts.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. The company is based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, and its catalog centers on highly visible aiming systems for shooters who want a clearer sight picture than standard factory irons typically provide. Its product range includes fiber-optic sights, tritium sights, recoil pads, and related shooting accessories.

A defining part of the brand's identity is its LitePipe system, which uses removable and reusable fiber-optic elements to let shooters change color and maintain a bright front reference. HiViz has also developed product families such as LiteWave and LiteWave H3, combining robust sight bodies with either fiber-optic or tritium-assisted visibility. That focus on practical sight visibility and platform-specific fit has made the company a well-known name in replacement firearm sights.
