Discovery Optics VT-R 6-24x42 AOAC

• 6-24x magnification range: This zoom span covers everything from short-range zeroing to small targets at extended distance, making the scope suitable for rimfire practice, target shooting, and general precision work.
• Adjustable objective parallax: Parallax adjustment from 9.14 m to inf. helps keep the reticle and target on the same focal plane, which improves aiming consistency at varying distances and is especially useful for close-range rimfire use.
• Illuminated reticle: Red & Green illumination gives the aiming point better visibility against dark backgrounds or in changing light, helping the shooter maintain a clear reference without covering too much of the target.
• 1-inch tube design: The 25.4 mm main tube keeps the scope compatible with widely available rings while maintaining a practical balance of size, weight, and mounting flexibility.
• Field-ready construction: Nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction helps the VT-R stay usable in damp weather, temperature changes, and regular transport to and from the range.

About the Discovery Optics VT-R Series

Discovery Optics VT-R is an entry-level riflescope series built to give shooters a broad choice of practical configurations without moving into heavier or more specialized optics. The range was presented with multiple models, from compact fixed-power options to variable scopes such as 3-9x40, 4-16x42, 6-24x42, and 10-40x50, along with versions marked AC, AOE, AOAC, SF, and IRAC. That variety makes the series relevant to everything from casual range use and rimfire shooting to budget-conscious hunting optics and introductory long-range practice.

A consistent theme in the VT-R family is a straightforward mechanical layout built around a 1-inch tube, with features chosen for practical field use rather than unnecessary complexity. The series is described with VCF fully multicoated optics and TES erector support, reflecting a design that aims for dependable image quality and stable internal adjustment. Adjustable-objective models in the line offer parallax correction from 10 yards to infinity, which is particularly useful for shooters who move between short and medium distances and want a clearer sight picture with more precise aiming.

About the Discovery Optics VT-R 6-24x42 AOAC

The Discovery Optics VT-R 6-24x42 AOAC is the higher-magnification option in the VT-R family for shooters who want more target detail without stepping up to a larger, heavier scope class. Its 6-24x magnification range gives enough flexibility for bench shooting, rimfire precision work, and general target use, while the 42.00 mm objective keeps the overall format relatively manageable. At lower power, the scope remains easier to use for setup and target acquisition; at higher power, it gives a closer view of small aiming points and shot placement.

This model is especially defined by its AOAC adjustable objective system. With parallax adjustment from 9.14 m to inf., it is better suited to mixed-distance shooting than a fixed-parallax scope, particularly when working at shorter ranges where parallax error is more noticeable. The stated 70.00-78.00 mm eye relief provides a usable head position, and the 6.60 to 1.92 m/100m field of view reflects the expected trade-off between wider low-power viewing and tighter high-power precision.

The scope also includes an illuminated reticle with Red & Green settings, helping the aiming point stand out against dark targets or shaded backgrounds. Mechanically, the 25.4 mm tube, 11.64 mrad / 40.00 MOA elevation and windage range, and CCW turret rotation keep the layout familiar and easy to integrate into a straightforward target or rimfire setup. With a weight of 525.00 g and a length of 365.00 mm, it offers substantial magnification without becoming excessively bulky for regular range use.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics, presented by the company as DISCOVERYOPT, states that it was established in 2009 and lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The brand focuses on rifle scopes for shooting and hunting, while also offering a broader range of electro-optical sighting products. Its catalog includes conventional riflescopes with both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane reticles, as well as thermal imaging solutions intended for hunting use.

Within its riflescope lineup, Discovery Optics groups products into several series, including XED, ED, LHD, and HD, alongside more accessible lines aimed at practical field and range applications. That mix shows a company centered on sporting and shooting optics, with products that span from entry-level scopes to more specialized configurations for users who need different reticle layouts, magnification ranges, and optical formats.
