Crimson Trace LG-499 Heckler & Koch Laserguard

• Instinctive Activation: The front activation system turns the laser on with a normal firing grip, so the sight is ready without adding extra steps during presentation.
• Trigger Guard Fit for HK VP Pistols: This Laserguard is shaped for the Heckler & Koch VP9, VP9SK and VP40, giving a model-specific fit that keeps the pistol compact and natural in the hand.
• User-Adjustable Windage and Elevation: Point of impact can be tuned to the pistol and ammunition, which helps maintain a precise aiming reference at practical defensive distances.
• 5 mW Class 3R Red Laser: The red aiming beam provides a clear visual reference for rapid sighting, especially when shooting from unconventional positions or in reduced light.
• Aluminium Construction: The housing adds durability for daily carry and regular training while keeping the unit suitable for a handgun-mounted application.

About the Laserguard Series

Crimson Trace Laserguard sights are built as compact, firearm-specific laser units that mount close to the trigger guard and preserve the handling qualities of the host pistol. In the Crimson Trace lineup, the series sits as a practical option for shooters who want a dedicated aiming laser without moving to a larger rail-mounted system or changing the overall profile of the handgun more than necessary. Laserguard models are commonly used on concealed-carry pistols, duty sidearms and home-defense handguns where fast access and simple operation matter more than extra bulk.

A defining feature of the series is Instinctive Activation, which places the control where it can be engaged as part of a normal firing grip. That design keeps operation direct under stress and reduces the need to shift hand position to switch the laser on. Depending on the model, the series is offered in red or green variants and is tailored to specific handgun frames for a close, integrated fit. The result is a laser sight family focused on rapid target indexing, straightforward installation and everyday carry practicality.

About the Crimson Trace LG-499 Heckler & Koch Laserguard

The Crimson Trace LG-499 Heckler & Koch Laserguard is a red handgun laser sight made specifically for the Heckler & Koch VP9, VP9SK and VP40. Its trigger-guard-mounted format keeps the pistol streamlined, which is important on defensive handguns that may be carried daily or drawn from concealment. Because the unit is shaped around the VP-series frame, it adds an aiming aid without turning the pistol into a bulkier setup that is harder to holster or handle.

The laser uses front Instinctive Activation, so the beam can come on as the pistol is gripped in a normal shooting hold. In practice, that matters when speed is important and there is little time to think about separate controls. The 5.00 mW Class 3R red laser provides a visible aiming reference for close-range defensive shooting, low-light use and positions where the sights are harder to align at eye level. Crimson Trace also makes the unit adjustable for windage and elevation, allowing the shooter to match the laser to the pistol and chosen load rather than relying on a fixed factory setting.

The aluminium housing supports regular carry and range use, while the simple on/off control keeps operation straightforward. With its compact form, model-specific fit and fast-activation layout, the LG-499 is aimed at shooters who want a dedicated laser sight that complements the handling of the HK VP platform rather than changing it.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and built its name around aiming systems for firearms. The company is known for firearm laser sights and firearm-mounted lights, with product families that include Lasergrips, Laserguard and Rail Master. Its Lightguard line extends that focus into dedicated handgun-mounted illumination, while the wider catalog also includes riflescopes and rangefinders.

A key part of the brand's identity is Instinctive Activation, which uses pressure-pad placement designed to work with a normal shooting grip rather than a separate, awkward movement. That emphasis on practical handling has made Crimson Trace a familiar name in defensive and tactical optics. The company also operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States, reflecting its continued focus on firearm sighting equipment and related accessories.
