Celestron AstroMaster 80 AZ Short

1. Refractor Optical System: The AstroMaster 80 AZ Short features an 80mm achromatic refractor design, utilizing lenses to bend light and create crisp, high-contrast images. This optical type is celebrated for its performance on bright celestial objects like the Moon and planets, as well as for clear terrestrial viewing, with no central obstruction to mar the view.

2. Quick & Easy Setup: Designed with the beginner in mind, this telescope boasts a no-tool setup. The pre-assembled alt-azimuth mount and lightweight aluminum tripod allow for rapid assembly and intuitive point-and-look navigation, making it incredibly accessible for spontaneous observations.

3. Fully Coated Optics: The telescope's optics are fully coated, which means multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings are applied to at least one lens surface. This enhances light transmission, resulting in brighter, sharper images with improved contrast, vital for discerning fine details on planetary surfaces.

4. Portable and Versatile: Its compact size and lightweight construction make the AstroMaster 80 AZ Short exceptionally portable, ideal for backyard viewing or taking to a dark-sky location. The included image erect diagonal ensures that views are correctly oriented, making it equally suitable for nature observation and birdwatching during the day.

ABOUT THE CELESTRON ASTROMASTER 80 AZ SHORT

The Celestron AstroMaster 80 AZ Short stands out within its series as an exceptionally portable and user-friendly refractor telescope, specifically designed for those new to astronomy or seeking a convenient instrument for both celestial and terrestrial observations. Its 80mm aperture refractor design gathers ample light for bright, clear views of the Moon, planets, and even some deep-sky objects, distinguishing it from reflector models that typically require more maintenance. Built with a durable aluminum optical tube and an intuitive alt-azimuth mount, it offers a stable platform that is easy to navigate across the sky. The short focal length provides a wider field of view, perfect for viewing larger star clusters or sweeping landscapes. The sealed optical tube protects the internal lenses from dust and moisture, ensuring consistent performance. This telescope is an achromatic refractor, a type of telescope that uses a combination of lenses to bring different colors of light to approximately the same focus, providing good image quality with minimal chromatic aberration.
