Caldwell Flash Bang Target Hit Indicator

• Visual hit confirmation: The Flash Bang uses flashing green LED lights to show target impacts immediately, making it much easier to confirm hits when sound alone is hard to hear at longer distances.
• Visible at extended range: Its 10 ultra-bright LEDs are designed to be seen from thousands of yards away, which helps shooters spot impacts without walking downrange or relying on a spotter for every shot.
• Low-impact energy detection: The unit can register lighter impacts, including .223 hits at 1,000 yards, so it remains useful even when target movement and impact energy are reduced at distance.
• Fits a wide range of steel targets: Compatibility with targets over 5" and hook-and-loop attachment make it easy to add visual feedback to many AR500 target setups without a complicated mounting process.
• Long service life: Powered by 3 AA batteries with a rated life of over 30,000 impacts, it is built for frequent range sessions with minimal interruption for battery changes.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

The Caldwell Accessories series covers a broad mix of practical shooting gear built to support range use rather than replace core firearms equipment. Within the wider Caldwell lineup, this family sits as a utility-focused range of add-ons and support products for shooters who want to improve setup, handling, transport, and target use with straightforward, durable solutions. The emphasis is typically on simple function, robust polymer construction, and designs that are easy to integrate into an existing range routine.

Across the series, Caldwell applies the same thinking found throughout its shooting-supplies catalog: products should solve a specific problem clearly and without unnecessary complexity. That can mean retention-focused holsters, target accessories, or other support items intended for regular use on the range. In practice, the series is defined less by one technology than by field-friendly usability, compact form, and compatibility with common shooting equipment. For shooters building a more efficient range setup, Caldwell Accessories serves as the part of the brand aimed at the small but important items that make practice sessions smoother and easier to manage.

About the Caldwell Flash Bang Target Hit Indicator

The Caldwell Flash Bang Target Hit Indicator is built for one clear purpose: giving shooters immediate visual confirmation when a steel target is struck. That becomes especially useful at longer distances, where the sound of impact may be delayed, masked by wind, or difficult to distinguish on a busy firing line. By triggering 10 flashing green LED lights on impact, the unit lets the shooter confirm a hit quickly and stay focused on the next shot rather than guessing whether the target was struck.

This model is particularly well suited to long-range practice, informal competition, and any setup where multiple shooters may be engaging steel. Its low-impact energy detection helps it respond even when lighter impacts reach the target, including .223 hits at 1,000 yards, which is important when target movement is reduced at distance. The compact self-contained design also keeps installation simple. Because it attaches with heavy-duty hook and loop material and works with targets over 5", it can be added to many AR500 target arrangements without permanent modification.

Power comes from 3 AA batteries, and the rated life of over 30,000 impacts makes the Flash Bang practical for frequent range use. The polymer housing keeps weight down while standing up to regular handling, and the black finish keeps the unit visually unobtrusive behind the target. Overall, this is a focused target accessory for shooters who want faster hit recognition and less uncertainty at extended range.

About Caldwell

Caldwell is a shooting-supplies brand centered on equipment for range use and firearms support. Its catalog covers several established product categories, including shooting rests, steel and paper targets, ballistic chronographs, magazine loaders, and electronic hearing protection. Well-known lines within the brand include the Lead Sled shooting rests and the E-Max hearing protection range, reflecting Caldwell's focus on practical tools for training, sight-in work, and general range sessions.

The brand is also active in target systems and target-launching equipment, which makes it particularly relevant in the shooting-gear and range-accessory segment. In December 2014, Smith & Wesson announced its acquisition of Battenfeld Technologies, which included Caldwell Shooting Supplies. That background helps explain Caldwell's reputation for producing a broad range of purpose-built accessories designed to make range time more efficient, more repeatable, and easier to manage.
