Caldwell ClayCopter Surface-to-Air

• Portable launcher design: The Caldwell ClayCopter Surface-to-Air stays compact and lightweight for easier transport and setup, making it practical for backyard clay practice, informal ranges, and mobile shooting sessions.
• App-based launcher control: Bluetooth connectivity with the Caldwell Clays App lets the launcher be controlled from up to 100 yards away, which helps create more flexible shooting setups and reduces trips back to the machine.
• Variable target presentation: Oscillating and wobble functions add movement and unpredictability, so practice feels less repetitive and better reflects the changing target angles shooters need to read in the field.
• Battery-powered operation: The included 12 Volt Li-Ion battery pack avoids the bulk of larger external batteries and supports up to 300 launches on a single charge for longer sessions with less equipment to carry.
• Broad ClayCopter compatibility: The launcher works with all ClayCopter targets, including 90mm and 110mm formats, giving shooters more freedom to tailor target size and flight style to the type of practice they want.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

Caldwell Accessories covers a broad range of support equipment built around practical range use and firearms handling rather than a single optical platform. Within the wider Caldwell catalog, the series sits as a utility-focused family that supports training, target work, transport, and day-to-day shooting tasks. The emphasis is on durable polymer construction, straightforward handling, and designs that solve common setup problems without adding unnecessary complexity.

Across the series, Caldwell applies the same thinking seen in its other shooting gear: products are made to be easy to carry, quick to deploy, and simple to integrate into an existing range routine. In different parts of the range, that can mean retention holsters, target accessories, or launcher-related equipment, all shaped around dependable function and repeated use. What distinguishes the series is its practical field-and-range orientation, where compact form, robust materials, and uncomplicated operation matter more than cosmetic detail. For shooters building a complete practice setup, Caldwell Accessories serves as the supporting layer that keeps equipment organized, usable, and ready for repeated sessions.

About the Caldwell ClayCopter Surface-to-Air

The Caldwell ClayCopter Surface-to-Air is a target launcher designed for shooters who want more control over target presentation than a simple hand thrower can provide, while still keeping the system portable enough for casual practice or transport between shooting locations. Its role is to bring ClayCopter target shooting into a more structured format, with a freestanding launcher that supports hands-free operation and a more repeatable setup.

What sets this model apart is the way it combines portability with programmable target variety. The launcher can be operated by a wireless remote with 50 ft. range or through the Caldwell Clays App over Bluetooth from up to 100 yards away. In practice, that means the shooter can adjust launch angle, elevation, and power without standing next to the unit, which makes solo practice and more creative station layouts easier to manage. The ability to launch singles or pairs, together with oscillating and wobble functions, adds variation that helps develop timing, target pickup, and transition skills.

The launcher also keeps the system self-contained. It uses an included 12 Volt Li-Ion battery pack that is rated for up to 300 launches on one charge, reducing bulk compared with heavier battery setups. Compatibility with all ClayCopter targets, including 90mm and 110mm versions, gives the platform flexibility for different target styles, while built-in UV lights support glow-capable ClayCopter UFO targets for low-light recreational shooting.

About Caldwell

Caldwell is a shooting-supplies brand focused on equipment for range use and firearms handling. Its catalog covers a wide span of practical shooting gear, including electronic hearing protection, shooting rests, targets, and ballistic chronographs, which places the brand firmly in the training and range-equipment side of the shooting market. Well-known product families such as E-Max for hearing protection and Lead Sled for shooting rests show Caldwell’s emphasis on tools that support more controlled practice and more repeatable results.

The brand also offers steel targets and target-launching equipment, making it directly relevant to shooters who want to build complete practice setups rather than buy isolated accessories. Caldwell became part of the Battenfeld Technologies portfolio that Smith & Wesson announced it was acquiring in December 2014. In practical terms, Caldwell’s reputation rests on producing functional, purpose-built shooting gear that is easy to integrate into regular range use.
