Caldwell AR500 Long Range Gong Kit with Flashbang

• AR500 steel gong: The 18”x24” 3/8” steel target is built for centerfire rifle use, giving the shooter a large, durable aiming surface that stands up to repeated long-range practice.
• Flash Bang hit indicator: The included impact-activated indicator uses flashing green LEDs to confirm hits visually, which helps spot impacts at distances where sound or splash can be hard to read.
• Customizable frame setup: Steel frame hubs work with standard 2x4 lumber, so the stand height and width can be tailored to the range layout instead of forcing a fixed target position.
• Nylon-reinforced rubber straps: The hanging system helps the gong move on impact and is designed for repeated use, reducing wear compared with more rigid mounting methods.
• Long-range ready kit: By combining the gong, frame hubs, hang straps and hit indicator in one package, the kit simplifies the setup for shooters building a dedicated steel target station for extended distances.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

Caldwell Accessories covers a broad range of practical shooting equipment built around range use, firearms handling and training support. Within the Caldwell lineup, this series sits as a utility-focused collection that complements the brand’s better-known rests, targets and range tools. Rather than centering on one narrow product type, the series brings together gear intended to make setup, transport, retention and target use more straightforward in real shooting conditions.

A defining trait of the series is its emphasis on functional design over unnecessary complexity. Across the wider range, Caldwell has used durable materials and straightforward adjustment systems to suit regular field and range handling. The series includes products for target shooting and firearms support, reflecting the brand’s focus on shooters who want dependable equipment for practice, training and recreational use. In that context, Caldwell Accessories fits naturally into range setups where reliability, simple installation and repeatable use matter more than cosmetic detail.

About the Caldwell AR500 Long Range Gong Kit with Flashbang

The Caldwell AR500 Long Range Gong Kit with Flashbang is built for shooters who want a steel target setup that is easier to see, easier to confirm and easier to adapt for extended-distance practice. At the center of the kit is an 18”x24” 3/8” AR500 steel gong, a size that gives a clear aiming reference at long range while still offering the durability expected from rifle-rated steel. That combination makes it well suited to precision shooting, general centerfire rifle practice and informal long-range target work where immediate feedback matters.

What sets this kit apart is the inclusion of the Flash Bang hit indicator. Instead of relying only on the sound of impact or a spotter trying to catch target movement, the indicator flashes green LEDs when the gong is struck. In practice, that makes hit confirmation much easier at distances where audio feedback is delayed or difficult to hear, and where bullet splash may be hard to see through optics. For shooters working at very long distances, that visual cue helps keep strings of fire efficient and reduces uncertainty between shots.

The support system is equally practical. Steel frame hubs are designed to use standard 2x4 lumber, allowing the frame to be built to suit the available space and preferred target height. The included nylon-reinforced rubber straps suspend the gong in a way that promotes movement on impact while supporting repeated use. Altogether, this Caldwell target kit is a flexible long-range steel setup for shooters who want durable hardware and clearer hit indication in one package.

About Caldwell

Caldwell is a shooting-supplies brand focused on equipment for shooting ranges and firearms use. Its catalog covers a wide spread of practical gear, including steel targets, target-launching equipment, shooting rests, electronic hearing protection and ballistic chronographs. The brand is also known for product families such as Lead Sled shooting rests and E-Max electronic hearing protection, showing a strong emphasis on range support equipment rather than firearms themselves.

Caldwell became part of a larger group of shooting-accessory brands when Smith & Wesson announced the acquisition of Battenfeld Technologies in December 2014. Within the shooting market, Caldwell has built its reputation around accessible, purpose-built tools that help shooters train more efficiently, whether that means improving stability on the bench, managing range sessions or setting up durable target systems for repeated use.
