Caldwell AR500 Coyote Target

• AR500 steel construction: Built from steel for repeated use, this target gives shooters a durable practice option that stands up well to regular range sessions.
• Coyote silhouette shape: The animal-profile design adds more realistic target presentation than a simple round plate, making practice more engaging for field-style drills and recreational shooting.
• High-visibility finish: The contrasting finish helps the target stand out downrange, so it is easier to acquire quickly and confirm hits during practice.
• Target-post compatibility: The center slot works with the Caldwell AR500 Target Post system, giving a straightforward mounting method for simple setup and target changes.
• Centerfire rifle rating: Designed for rifle-rated use, the target suits shooters who want a steel option for training, informal competition, and repeated impact use.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

Caldwell Accessories covers a broad mix of practical shooting gear built around range use, firearms handling, and training support. Within the Caldwell lineup, the series sits as a utility-focused family that includes products for target shooting, range organization, and firearm-related accessories rather than a single tightly defined optical or mechanical platform. Caldwell uses this umbrella to group products intended for regular shooters who want dependable equipment for practice, setup, and day-to-day use at the range.

Because the series spans multiple accessory types, its defining trait is not one shared mechanism but a common design approach: straightforward function, durable materials, and compatibility with common shooting applications. In practice, that means products aimed at recreational shooters, training use, and general firearms support rather than highly specialized competition-only equipment. For steel targets and related accessories, the emphasis is on robust construction, simple mounting, and shapes that make practice more varied and useful. Caldwell Accessories therefore fits shooters who want practical gear that integrates easily into established range routines.

About the Caldwell AR500 Coyote Target

The Caldwell AR500 Coyote Target is a steel target designed to bring more variety to rifle practice by replacing a basic plate with a recognizable game-animal silhouette. That shape changes the way shooters engage the target: instead of aiming at a simple circle, they work with a profile that better reflects field-style target presentation. For recreational shooting, informal competition, and general marksmanship training, that makes practice sessions more interesting while still keeping setup straightforward.

The target uses steel construction and is intended for repeated impact use, which is the main advantage of this style of target over disposable paper options. A durable steel target supports frequent training without constant replacement, while the audible and visual feedback of a hit helps keep drills moving efficiently. The black finish gives the target a clean, purpose-built appearance, and the product is also described by Caldwell as part of its AR500 target range with a high-visibility finish for easier downrange identification.

A practical detail is the 1/2" x 1" center slot, which is compatible with the Caldwell AR500 Target Post. That compatibility matters because it simplifies mounting and lets shooters build a modular target setup around existing Caldwell hardware. As a result, the Caldwell AR500 Coyote Target suits shooters who want a durable steel target with a more realistic silhouette for regular range use.

About Caldwell

Caldwell is a shooting-supplies brand focused on equipment for shooting ranges and firearms use. Its catalog covers a wide span of practical products, including shooting rests, steel targets, target-launching equipment, ballistic chronographs, magazine loaders, and electronic hearing protection. That breadth has helped establish Caldwell as a brand associated with range equipment and training accessories rather than firearms themselves.

Several product families are especially well known within the brand. The Lead Sled line includes shooting rests, the Mag Charger name is used for magazine loaders, and the E-Max line covers electronic hearing protection products. Caldwell became part of Battenfeld Technologies, a business later acquired by Smith & Wesson in December 2014. In the target category, Caldwell is particularly relevant for shooters looking for practical steel targets and supporting range gear built around repeated use and straightforward setup.
