Blaser Infinity 1-7x28 Product description

  • True 1x to 7x zoom range: The wide magnification span lets the scope work like a fast driven-hunt optic at 1x, while 7x adds enough reach for more deliberate shots across open ground.
  • First focal plane illuminated reticle: Because the reticle stays proportional through the zoom range, hold references remain consistent, while the red illumination helps the aiming point stand out in changing light.
  • Very wide field of view: Up to 40.80 m/100m gives a broad sight picture for tracking moving game, spotting follow-up opportunities, and staying aware of the surroundings during fast shooting situations.
  • 90 mm eye relief: The generous eye relief supports safer, more comfortable use on hard-recoiling hunting rifles and makes it easier to maintain a stable head position under pressure.
  • 36 mm tube with integrated Zeiss ZM/VM rail: The large tube provides solid adjustment travel, while the integrated rail supports precise, repeatable mounting on compatible setups.

About the Blaser Infinity Series

The Blaser Infinity series was introduced in 2018 as part of Blaser’s top-tier hunting optics range. The line was built around practical hunting applications rather than target-style shooting, with configurations tailored to driven hunts, mountain hunting, stalking, hide hunting, and low-light use. In this family, the 1–7x28 format covers fast, close-to-medium-range work, while larger models extend the concept into more specialized terrain and lighting conditions.

A defining feature of the series is its use of first focal plane reticles across the range. Blaser pairs this with phase grating technology to keep the reticle bars fine at higher magnification, so the sight picture remains usable both at low power for speed and at higher power for more exact shot placement. The Infinity concept focuses on a broad zoom range, practical reticle behavior, and hunting-oriented ergonomics rather than oversized controls or tactical styling. That makes the series especially relevant for hunters who want one riflescope platform with a consistent operating feel across different hunting methods.

About the Blaser Infinity 1-7x28

The Blaser Infinity 1-7x28 is the fast-handling model in the series, designed primarily for driven hunts and other situations where game appears suddenly and the shot must be taken without delay. Its true 1x magnification allows shooting with both eyes open, which helps maintain spatial awareness and makes target pickup more natural at short range. At the other end of the zoom range, 7x gives enough magnification for more careful placement when the distance opens up, so the scope remains useful beyond pure close-range work.

The optical layout supports this role well. A 40.80 m/100m field of view at low power gives a broad image for following moving animals, while the 28 mm objective still provides a 4 mm exit pupil at maximum magnification, helping the scope stay practical in less favorable light. The fully multicoated lenses and 90% light transmission contribute to a clear, high-contrast image without making the scope overly bulky.

This model also combines a first focal plane illuminated reticle with daytime-visible red illumination, so the aiming point remains easy to see in bright conditions and still precise as magnification increases. The capped turrets suit a hunting optic that is carried through brush and used under time pressure, since they protect the settings from accidental movement. A 36 mm tube, integrated Zeiss ZM/VM rail, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction, and automatic illumination shut-off round out a riflescope built for reliable field use rather than bench-only handling.

About Blaser

Blaser was founded by Horst Blaser in Isny, Germany, in 1957. The company built its reputation in hunting firearms and later expanded into a broader hunting and outdoor equipment portfolio within the Blaser Group, which is headquartered in Isny im Allgäu, Germany. Alongside rifles, combination guns, shotguns, and hunting accessories, Blaser also develops sport optics including riflescopes and binoculars.

A notable part of the brand’s identity is the Original Blaser Saddle Mount, designed for quick, tool-free removal and replacement of a riflescope. That emphasis on repeatable mounting, practical field handling, and integration with hunting rifles carries over into Blaser optics. In 2000, Michael Lüke and Thomas Ortmeier acquired Blaser together with the MAUSER and J.P. SAUER & SOHN brands, helping shape the modern group structure behind the company’s hunting-focused product range.

Red reflections at low power

I have a 1-7x28 Blaser, and find the scope has a red ring and red spot at around 8 pm. It appears to be a good scope apart from this issue of red reflections at low x.
No joy from local agents, these scopes are not cheap and one would expect a higher standard.
