Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x50 SFP

• Lightweight hunting build: At 582.00 g and 338.00 mm, this riflescope keeps a mountain rifle trim and well balanced, so it is easier to carry all day and quicker to settle into position for unsupported shots.
• 3-15x magnification range: The 3.00 x to 15.00 x zoom span covers close woodland encounters as well as deliberate shots across open ground, reducing the need to compromise between speed and reach.
• 50 mm objective with HD-focused design: The larger objective helps maintain a bright, usable sight picture at higher magnification, while the Razor HD LHT optical approach emphasizes contrast and detail that matter when picking animals out of mixed terrain.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: A second focal plane reticle keeps its apparent size consistent through the zoom range, which many hunters prefer for a familiar aiming picture, while illumination helps the reticle stand out against dark backgrounds in poor light.
• Locking capped turrets: Capped, locking turrets protect settings from accidental movement in a scabbard or pack, yet still provide precise 0.10 MIL clicks when a shot calls for a measured correction.

About the Vortex Razor HD LHT Series

The Vortex Razor HD LHT series sits in the Razor riflescope family as a hunting-focused line built around the idea of combining low weight with the optical and mechanical standards expected from a premium field scope. Vortex currently lists three models in the series, including 3-15x42, 3-15x50, and 4.5-22x50 configurations, giving hunters a choice between compact handling and more reach for open-country work. The line is intended for mountain hunting and open terrain, where a scope has to be light enough for long climbs but still capable when the shot stretches out.

Across the series, the defining traits are HD optical clarity, enhanced contrast, and a rugged construction suited to hard field use. The reticle and focal-plane layout vary by model, with the 3-15x50 using a second focal plane reticle while the 4.5-22x50 uses first focal plane, allowing the series to cover both traditional hunting preferences and more dial-oriented shooting styles. Illuminated reticles are part of the concept, and the overall design philosophy favors practical carry weight, dependable mechanics, and a clean optical image rather than oversized tactical bulk.

About the Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x50 SFP

The Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x50 SFP is the model in the series aimed at hunters who want one riflescope to cover a wide spread of real field distances without adding unnecessary mass to the rifle. Its 3-15x magnification range is broad enough for fast target acquisition at the low end and careful shot placement at the high end, making it well suited to mixed terrain where a day may shift from timber edges to long views across basins. The 50.00 mm objective lens supports a bright image at higher magnification, which is especially useful in the first and last light periods when game is often active.

This version uses a second focal plane illuminated reticle, so the reticle keeps the same apparent size throughout the zoom range. In practice, that gives the shooter a steady, familiar sight picture at both low and high magnification, which many hunting users prefer over a reticle that appears to grow or shrink. The side-focus parallax adjustment from 20 m - Infinity helps sharpen the image and reduce aiming error across a broad range of distances, while the fast focus eyepiece makes it easier to tune the reticle quickly to the eye.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for field reliability. The 30 mm tube provides room for a generous 23.00 mrad of elevation and windage adjustment, and the 0.10 MIL click value allows precise corrections without becoming overly fine for gloved use. Capped, locking turrets are a practical choice for a hunting riflescope because they help prevent accidental movement during transport, stalking, or repeated handling. Argon purging, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction further support dependable use in changing weather and rough country.

About Vortex

Vortex traces its roots to a Wild Birds Unlimited store opened by the Hamilton family in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1986. The Vortex brand entered the sport optics market in 2002, and the company has since focused on optics for hunting, shooting, and outdoor use. Its catalog spans binoculars, riflescopes, spotting scopes, laser rangefinders, and red dots, with product families such as Razor, Viper, and Kaibab covering different levels and applications.

Headquartered in Barneveld, Wisconsin, Vortex is employee-owned and operated. Alongside conventional sport optics, the company also offers ballistic tools powered by GeoBallistics technology, reflecting a broader focus on practical field shooting solutions. That experience in both hunting and shooting optics is directly relevant to a riflescope such as the Razor HD LHT, where low carry weight, dependable mechanics, and a clear image all matter in real use.
