TacStar Rear Grip for Remington 870

• Ergonomic pistol-grip shape: The rearward angle, back swell and finger-groove layout help spread recoil more evenly through the hand, giving the shotgun a steadier feel during fast follow-up shots.
• One-piece polymer construction: The reinforced polymer body keeps weight down while standing up to hard field and range use, making it a practical upgrade for a working Remington 870.
• Remington 870 fit: Built specifically for the Remington 870, this rear grip offers a direct replacement format that suits tactical shotgun setups without unnecessary complexity.
• Quick installation: The grip is designed for straightforward fitting and includes the necessary mounting hardware, so the shotgun can be updated without permanent alteration.
• Made in the USA: U.S. manufacture and TacStar’s long focus on shotgun accessories make this grip a sensible choice for users building a durable defensive or duty-style shotgun.

About the TacStar Accessories Series

TacStar Accessories are built around practical upgrades for shotguns and rifles used by hunters, military professionals and law-enforcement professionals. Since Lyman acquired TacStar in 1997, the brand has remained focused on tactical firearm accessories that improve handling, carrying and on-gun utility rather than changing the core function of the firearm. The range includes grips, rails, slings, shell carriers and brass catchers, with products shaped around straightforward installation and hard use.

Within the lineup, TacStar is especially well known for shotgun accessories. The series includes front and rear grips, rail systems and the patented SideSaddle shotshell carrier, all aimed at making pump-action shotguns easier to control and configure for defensive, training and field roles. The design approach is simple: durable materials, model-specific fit and features that give the shooter a more secure hold or more useful mounting options without adding unnecessary bulk.

About the TacStar Rear Grip for Remington 870

The TacStar Rear Grip for Remington 870 is a dedicated shotgun grip for users who want a more compact, pistol-grip handling setup on a Remington 870. It replaces the standard rear stock interface with a grip shape designed to improve control during close-range handling, storage and transport. That makes it especially relevant for defensive shotguns, training guns and compact tactical builds where maneuverability matters as much as raw stability.

Its main advantage is the way the shape supports the hand under recoil. TacStar designed these shotgun grips with a proper width, a rearward angle and a back swell that help distribute recoil energy more evenly. In practice, that gives the shotgun a firmer, less abrupt feel when cycling the action and recovering for the next shot. The finger-groove ergonomic form also helps the hand settle into a repeatable position, which is useful when the shotgun is brought up quickly under stress or while wearing gloves.

The body is made from polymer, which keeps the grip resistant to weather and regular knocks while avoiding the unnecessary weight of a metal component in this part of the build. The grip is also intended for easy installation and comes with the required mounting hardware, so it suits shooters who want a functional handling upgrade without permanent modification. For a 12 gauge Remington 870, it is a simple way to create a shorter, more tactical shotgun configuration.
