Sightmark Solitude 7x36 XD

• XD glass optics: Extra-low-dispersion glass reduces color fringing, so fine detail stays cleaner and higher in contrast when scanning woodland edges, birds, or uneven terrain.
• 7x36 configuration: The moderate 7x magnification is easy to hold steady by hand, while the 36 mm objective keeps the binocular compact enough for hiking and travel.
• Wide field of view: With 159.25 m/1000m, it is easier to pick up movement, follow wildlife, and maintain awareness of the wider scene instead of tunneling into a narrow image.
• Roof prism compact body: The Schmidt/Pechan roof prism layout and open-bridge design keep the binocular slim, well balanced, and comfortable to carry for long periods.
• Field-ready construction: Nitrogen filling, waterproof and fogproof sealing, and a protective exterior help the binocular stay usable in rain, humidity, and changing temperatures.

About the Sightmark Solitude Series

Sightmark Solitude binoculars sit in the brand’s outdoor observation range as practical, field-oriented optics for users who need a compact roof-prism format with dependable all-weather construction. The series includes both standard Solitude models and Solitude XD variants, with the XD versions adding extra-low-dispersion glass for improved control of chromatic aberration and cleaner image definition. Across the family, the design focuses on straight-through viewing, portable dimensions, and the kind of handling that suits wildlife observation, hiking, and general terrain scanning.

Within the lineup, Solitude models cover several common magnification and objective combinations, while the XD range adds options for users who place more emphasis on image refinement and contrast. Roof-prism construction keeps the binoculars streamlined, and the series is built for outdoor use with waterproof and fogproof protection. Twist-up eyecups and a familiar central-focus layout make the Solitude line easy to adapt to different users, including eyeglass wearers. Overall, the series is aimed at people who want a binocular that remains easy to carry but still offers the optical control and durability needed for regular use in the field.

About the Sightmark Solitude 7x36 XD

The Sightmark Solitude 7x36 XD is the most compact XD-format model in the series, built around a combination that favors stability, speed, and portability. Its 7x magnification is easier to hold steady than higher-power binoculars, which makes it well suited to woodland walks, bird watching, travel, and general outdoor observation where subjects appear and disappear quickly. The 36 mm objective lenses keep the binocular smaller and lighter than full-size 42 mm models, while the 5.20 mm exit pupil still provides a relaxed view in mixed light.

The optical system combines XD glass with fully multicoated lenses and a roof-prism layout to improve contrast, reduce distracting color fringing, and preserve image brightness in a compact housing. A 159.25 m/1000m field of view is especially useful for tracking moving subjects and scanning broad areas without constantly repositioning the binocular. The 16.80 mm eye relief and twist-up eyecup design support comfortable viewing for a wide range of users, while the right-eyepiece diopter adjustment helps fine-tune focus between eyes.

Mechanically, the binocular is designed for regular outdoor use. The open-bridge body gives a secure one-handed grip, central focusing keeps operation quick, and the nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof construction helps maintain reliability in damp weather and changing temperatures. At 650.00 g, it remains substantial enough to feel stable in the hands without becoming burdensome on longer walks.
